Number of people in swap:22

Last day to signup/drop:September 7, 2007
Date items must be sent by:September 17, 2007
Number of swap partners:2
Description:

I have Princesshammerhead to thank for the idea for this swap!

You will send to each of your 2 partners:
- 1 handmade item no bigger than 4" x 6" x 1" (10cm x 15cm x 2.5cm)
- 1 purchased item no bigger than 4" x 6" x 1" (10cm x 15cm x 2.5cm)

Both items can be smaller than these measurements, but not bigger. Each purchased item should be $3-5US in value.

I don't want people to take out their tape measures when they receive their swaps (I would hate to see anyone get a 3 rating because they went over a teensy little bit), but please try to keep this maximum size in mind as much as possible. It is, after all, a "Small Packages" swap! There is no minimum size requirement - as long as you don't need a magnifying glass to see it!

Please do check out your partners' profiles and take their preferences into consideration.

I will ban anyone with a sketchy profile, less than a 4.6 rating, more than one "no send" in the last 6 months, and anyone else who seems dodgy to me for any reason. I ban after sign up but please do pm me if you have concerns.

If you have not received your swap by Oct. 17, please let me know. Thx!

I know this is an odd thing to ask, but can you all measure your wrists for me and tell me how big they are? I MAY make bracelets, and not knowing someones size is a pain.. I'm asking now, since I dont know who my partner is, and I'd like to start it now anyway so it will be done sooner than later.

Gee, I wish somebody had told me that I didn't know how to describe a swap, and that I had the wrong title on it! I guess I should have called it the "Tell me what you don't want" swap! lol

While I really do not want to offend anyone, this is NOT a swap for listing what you do NOT want. For me a lot of the fun of swapping is the opportunity to broaden my horizons, both in creating and receiving. Not to limit them. That is why I described my swap the way I wanted to.

As far as I am concerned, the only things that anyone should be listing as "not wanted" are items to which they are allergic, things for which they have a phobia (for example, I have noted that some SB members are frightened of clowns) and the like. In these cases, however, they are serious enough that they should already be indicated in peoples' profiles. And if it is a matter of health, then there is no harm in putting a reminder on this swap page (in fact, I would encourage it). As well, profiles should indicate peoples' preferences and dislikes, and I have already asked that profiles be considered when putting together this swap. Most swappers always try to this anyway. So, if your partner sends you something that clearly ignores a stated dislike, allergy, etc. in your profile, then you are certainly entitled to rate them a 3.

If anyone is not comfortable with the parameters of this swap as I have laid them out, they may either drop out now or be dropped by me after the signup date. This will let the rest of us have some fun with this!

Again, I am sorry if I have offended anyone, but, hey, this is my swap after all.

Hugs, Terry

neena, who has been outed as a longtime flaker who keeps changing her profile and moniker, has deleted her account. I do not believe she has really sent her swaps out to Kelli and me, so I have contacted her partners to see if they can send neena's swaps as follows:

xuxu to Kelli in Tasmania instead of to neena (confirmed - thx xuxu!)

elly-b to TerryF instead of to neena (confirmed - thx elly-b!)

Kelli 08/26/2007 #

Thanks for organising that Terry.

Veterok & sewandsew: your parcels went out today from the U.S. You should be getting them in 5-10 days. Hopefully on the shorter end of that timeframe!
