Description:

Hi Everybody! This time around I would like us to get a little more in-depth and personal.

This time we'll have one partner and we'll make 3 cards for them and also pray for them.

Card 1: Read your partner’s profile and determine something they may be struggling with like being too busy, stressed out, fearful, discouraged etc., and find a scripture that will encourage them and lead them in this area.

Card 2: Email your partner and ask them what some of their favorite scriptures are and then pick one and make a decorated card about it. Also talk to your partners via email and ask them how you can pray for them. And then pray for them. You can even write your prayer down that you prayed for them and include it with your cards when you mail them.

Card 3: Sender’s choice. Use any scripture you’d like to use.

WHAT IS THIS SWAP SERIES ABOUT? This is a swap for Christians that enjoy reading, memorizing, meditating and praying scripture. What we're doing is starting a collection of decorated scripture cards. You can buy an index card file box at an office supply store or department store and keep your cards in it.

HOW DO YOU MAKE A DECORATED SCRIPTURE CARD? Using 3" X 5" index cards (colored or white cards, ruled or unruled cards is up to the sender what type of card to use). You may use regular cardstock cut to the 3" X 5" guidelines too if you prefer not to use index cards.

On one side of the card write the scripture including the reference information (book, chapter and verse) and which Bible version you're using (NIV, KJV, etc.,). Make it legible, if your handwriting is hard to read that's okay just type it out and glue it on. If you have rubber stamps with scriptures on them then you can use them too.

On the other side of the index card you decorate it or you can write the same scripture using a different version. For example: You may write a verse on one side from the NIV and then on the other side of the index card write the same verse using the KJV. To decorate you may paint, draw or use stickers, rubber stamps, etc., and make a nice border around the verse(s) or you can put the verse on one side and use the other side to make an inspirational or cheerful picture.

WHO CAN SIGN UP? Newbies welcome, as we all have to start somewhere. Everyone else must have high numbers to join. If you seem fishy then I reserve the right to ban you, as I want everyone in the swap to be committed to getting the scripture cards done and mailed out. Enjoy!

PLEASE DO NOT BE JUDGEMENTAL OR PREACH TO THE OTHER PERSON ABOUT SOME “SIN” THAT IS IN THEIR PROFILE. WE ARE LOVING EACH OTHER TO CHRIST AND IN CHRIST AND ENCOURAGING OTHERS TO DO THE SAME. THANK YOU.

For anyone that hasn't already mailed theirs, I just had a great idea! Make color photocopies of your decorated cards, cut them out, glue the sides together, and now you can add them to your own card box, while still sending on the originals! I am doing that in the morning before my rendezvous with the post office. :)
