This swap is not for newbies to Swap-bot! You must have been rated at least three times before you may join. A lot of work go's into these, so it's only fair that we have people that play nicely. As long as you don't have many no sent's, your in.

You will have 5 swap partners. Using a cd as a template, create 4.5 inch circles out of heavy cardstock or something comparable 1 for each partner. decorate the entire front with anything bird related you'd like. The back of the circles should be finished but don't need to be as decorative. Sign the back, include your name * city * user name * state.

embellish with ribbon * fibers * drawings * poetry * quotes * charms * die cuts * crayons any medium is welcome. just make it fun.

RULES: (sorry gotta have them)

1.ALL pages must have a BIRD theme! ANY and all media's are acceptable. This means that it has to have something other then the color of the paper. 2.ALL pages must be round and the size of a CD.Please use a card stock that is not weak. Also, please measure to make sure that your's are this size. 3.You must have some sort of "texture", other wise why would we call this a chunky page? 4.You will have 5 partners You should have 5 pages when it's complete.

Embellishments should generally be kept to the middle or bottom edge.Problems often include buttons, thick vines, branches and leaves, lace or fabric trim, page pebbles and more. If you are unsure of the embellishments you plan to use, it’s in your best interest to consult with me. Please wait until your page is dry before you mail it out.

---Please DO NOT punch the page for binding, most swappers prefer to use their own binding method *--*- any questions please ask.

Any newbie/ratings requirement?

And should we pre-drill a binding hole or holes? Is it intended to be bound later with one or more holes? Lovely to see a non-US only circle one, I'd been watching the others go by quite sadly ;)

Nathalie 07/30/2007 #

Rillaith thanks for asking I adjusted the requirements ; )

It would be nice to contact your swappartner to see if they would like a binding hole(s) or not.

thredz 07/30/2007 #

I'm in! This is something new to do; I had the same question re: holes, only I was wondering if we need to cut out the middle (cd) hole...I guess not, huh?

Nathalie 07/30/2007 #

No you don't have to cut the middle hole ; )

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/30/2007 #

Hi Nathalie This sounds like fun. Is this going to be the first of many so we slowly build a book? Thank you.

AngelFaeryKathleen 07/30/2007 #

PLEASE NOTE When sending to New Zealand or Australia please DO NOT USE any thing that has been alive - feathers, seeds, plant stuff or the like. As it all will be burnt by border controll. Thank you.

Nathalie 07/30/2007 #

Hi Angel Faery, good idea. If we have enough participants I would be glad to host it ; )

lilylemon 07/30/2007 #

I've been "binding" my square chunky books with a two-hole punch and rings, and will probably do the same with these. So, no need to leave a margin or to punch them for me at least. I'm really lookin forward to this swap!

I have a quick technical question. The size of a cd is larger than 4.5". I cut out 5 4.5" circles and held them up to a cd and they were much smaller. Should I just trace the cd and cut that out or should the circles be exactly 4.5". Sorry for the trouble, I just want to make sure I do it correctly.

Nathalie 08/ 1/2007 #

Yes trace the CD and cut that out, I'm sorry I didn't know there would be a difference in size. Everybody has a CD and I think that's a standard size worldwide so probably the easiest way to make and cut the circles out of cardstock. Thanks for asking.

lvpoohbr2 08/ 1/2007 #

Will do. Thanks.

Im in sounds fun please can my partners put no holes in mine thanks once i get them all i shall bind them together myself :)

tangledthreads 08/ 9/2007 #

No holes for me either, would like to decide how I waat to bind after I get them.

Nathalie 08/10/2007 #

No holes for me either ; )

lilylemon 08/10/2007 #

I've been experimenting with mine and it looks like the top will be the best place to punch the holes. So, please, no holes, partners!

Nathalie, I wonder if the instructions should be changed about quarter inch binding space at the left, since that may not be where people will bind them. If my partners make mine especially for me (As opposed to making them ahead of time), the top would be thespot to leave somewhat free of embellishments.

Nathalie 08/10/2007 #

Thanks Lilly Lemon I changed the requirements as most of us prefer no punches for binding please don't punch the page for binding the pages together, this way your swappartner can choose the preferres binding manner

Hope this helps ; )

weyrmistress 08/28/2007 #

jessmarie 09/27/2007 #

Sent all 5 of mine out today. This was my first time ever making chunky book pages. I really enjoyed making them and am quite pleased with the results!

thredz 09/28/2007 #

Nathalie, LilyLemon, Gayle, memmu, and fromthepines - your pages will be in the Post this afternoon! This was a great swap, and I hope you enjoy them.

jessmarie 09/30/2007 #

Oh no, I just realized that I didn't put my city/state on the back. Instead I titled the page, put my username and date. I hope it isn't very important! :/

HHC 10/11/2007 #

I received from cookiebear almost immediately and AngelFaeryKathleen a week ago... I am awaiting the final three with great anticipation! :)

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/11/2007 #

I now all of mine and they are all so different and I love them all.

Thank you Nathalie for running these circular pages, I would love to do more but after Christmas as things are starting to get busy with all the Christmas swaps :-)))
