Description:

I know many of us love journals but have also been burned by flakers and increasing postage costs.

I am thinking of running this on a monthly basis so it can fit in around people's lives but still being an ongoing thing so that we will have, if we join each month, a full journal after about a year.

Instructions:

  1. Everyone buys a book, be in an exercise book or journal etc with at least 48 pages. (You can choose to fill an existing book).

  2. Everyone measures their journal pages and leaves a comment in the comments below.

  3. When partners are assigned you read to see what size journal your partners want and you make 2 partners 2 pages NOT CHECKING THE SIZES AND SENDING THE WRONG SIZE COULD SEE YOU END UP WITH A 3 RATING, THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE SWAP. (Apart from sending).

  4. Mail your journal pages. EDIT If you have envelope size restrictions you can fold your journal pages to fit into a business-sized envelope. Optional -(for those sending pages flat): I have found it useful to mail pages between cardboard for protection. Sometimes writing *"Please DO NOT BEND OR FOLD" in red or orange marker on the Envelope useful as well.

A TOTAL OF 4 PAGES PER MONTH 2 pages to 2 partners.

I will make the swaps signup by the 7th of the month and send by by the last day of the month, that gives you 3 weeks to make 4 pages each month.

It might be a good idea if you intend on joining each swap to write yourself a not of who your partner was and what you did for them so in case you happen to get the same partner later in the year.

Any questions or anything you think I've missed please tell/ask me.

As we are only doing a limited number of pages a month please put effort into each page. You can draw, collage, write poems, paint, sew, sketch, share quotes, anything you like. This is meant to be an exercise in creative expression. You can share personal experiences as well but please put effort into your presentation.

Some examples of my pathways in journaling can be found here and here

Please have a go and have fun! Newbies welcome.

Many thanks to @Neca84 for allowing me to swipe this swap idea.

My journal dimensions are 18cm by 24.5cm. A5 size entries are fine by me if that's easier.

I would love to join and was hoping you would set up a swap like that, because I do other journal pages in an ongoing swap. But I can only join, if I am allowed to fold them and send in a business size envie. Otherwise postage would be 8 US $ #per partner# for mailing due to envie-size-restrictions instead of 2,25 US $ . And that's really not worth it :((

Same with me.... I love the idea, but postage is beyond reasoning here. Sorry. Folding it can NOT be a problem, right ?!?!

Gees that's a lot! Of course I will allow you to fold your pages if it will cost that much.

I didn't realise there were size restrictions on envelopes. Here things are done on weight.

I will edit the swap details now.
