U-Name-It Journal

If you would like your own personalized themed journal, then this swap is for you!

Upon signing up for the swap, you will enter down below what theme you would like for your journal. It might be something highly practical, like “Swapbot” – in which you might keep notes on incoming/outgoing tags, swaps, etc., plus information about your groups, other swappers, RAKs, etc. Or a Christmas or wedding planner. Or, it might be something more broad like “friendship”, in which you might keep not only thoughts or inspirations regarding your friends, but perhaps poems, songs, gift ideas, etc. Or a place to journal your summer vacation. It could be anything. Please make your theme rather general – not a detailed account of how you would make the journal, but rather, what your theme is, and (if it’s not apparent by the title) how you plan to use it.

You may use either a handmade or a storebought, but hand-embellished, journal. Let’s keep them at least 5”x7” – unless your partner requests something smaller (perhaps for her purse). Make appropriate sections within the journal (but not journal entries). You may embellish pages as well, with artwork or small accents including quotes or poems – so long as it is more like an embellishment, rather than a journal entry. So, in margins, etc

I’d like to allow Newbies a shot at this swap. Make sure that your profile is full and complete. Others – rating of at least 4.8, with no 1s nor 3s in last 3 months.

In summary:
· enter your theme in comments below when you sign up
· make your partner a journal – either handmade, or embellished storebought, of at least 5”x7”
· make sure that sections include enough pages to be practical for their purpose
· newbies with a full profile, or other members with 4.8+ and no 1/3 in last 3 months

This sounds like fun! :-) I'd like my journal to be to write insights, things of the moment, funny comments, stories, etc about my 2 children.

I have so many I'd like, I'm having difficulty choosing. But in the end - I think I'll go with summer adventures ... a place to journal about our summer activities, keep little mementos, perhaps sketch a bit ... a book that myself and my 2 kids can enjoy writing in as the summer goes along. I think it'll be a fun little keepsake when it's back-to-school time again.

It's so hard deciding, but I think I will go for summer fun. Something I can write all the fun and silly times we've had this summer. It will probably be the last summer my oldest will be with us, he grads next year. So, I'd like to give this to him when he graduates. If it could be more man geared, meaning no pinks/purples, girly stuff-please.

What a great idea! Hmm.. I would like mine to be a bit smaller so I can put it in my purse. I would like mine sorta to be TO DO/THINGS NEEDED/OR REMINDER. If you read my profile you can get an idea of how you can decorate it!!

I cant wait.. HOW FUN!!!

something small-ish would be good, 5X7 would be great, not much bigger please and thanks :) i think i'm going to use it to document a trip i'm taking this fall. and like @MichelleLynn said above, you can see my profile for more hints :)

I'd like an "Everyday" journal to document everyday activities. Family, Home, Hobbies, Ideas...things I do everyday.

I have my oldest son's list of interests on my profile. He is a sport fanatic- basketball, football, Nascar, hockey, golf, you name it he watches it. Prefers blues, greens, reds and yellows.

I want BIRDS as my theme and will use it for practicing drawing birds, recording bird sightings, and interesting or funny bird behaviors. Humor and art are encouraged.

mama2llama 05/17/2010 #

I will be using mine to help me remember things(web pages I want to look up, swaps I want to follow, things I need to do, things I want to make, etc). So if you could decorate it with bright colors and use a cheery theme. Maybe great little cartoons, funny saying, or quotes on the front and margins would be great. I love girly colors(pinks and purples). I would love if you would add a small picture and note about yourself to the front or back inside.

papermuse 05/17/2010 #

I'm pretty easy, but a travel journal or an art journal would be appreciated.

hoosiergirl 05/17/2010 #

so glad i stumbled on this swap :0) I've been enjoying making lists of many things. So this is what I will use my journal for. As for decorating, you can get ideas from my profile - or just let you inner creative being shine through. Either way I'm sure I will love it!
