Description:

So we'll cover the TOP/LID of an altoid size tin. Cover the top with papers, newspaper, napkins, book pages, whatever. Modpog works great for this. Then embellish the lid. However you want. Now let the fun happen. Embellish that top! Let the tin be usable! So leave it undecorated! You may put something inside like tea bags or some needles and thread. You get the idea! Start now!

where do you get altoid tins? I'm in U.K. and haven't seen them over here.

An altoid tin has a hinged top!! It opens like a suitcase! Altoids are mints. Maybe as big around as your thumb print. Just find a comparable tin and use that!

Gofeen, send me an address and I'll shoot one off to you. Write to my email as I may not get back here. From Ukraine it shouldn't take too long. [email protected]

Gotta love friends!

Would it be alright to decorate all of the outside or areas covered in words (ingredients, brand, etc.) so long as the inside is still just an empty, usable tin?

knitmom7 06/ 9/2010 #

As long as the tin will still close and open easily, decorate away. Remember that we are to cover the tin's lid with paper/fabric!

HoneyBunny 06/11/2010 #

Could the tin be covered in fimo and then embellished with paper or does it have to be covered only in paper/fabric?

knitmom7 06/13/2010 #

Sure! Why not! I'd love to see/touch something like that!
