Description:

Draw a faux tattoo somewhere on your skin, about the size of a playing card or larger, using either black or coloured markers. Keep the group in mind: think geek when plotting your design. Snap a photo and email it to your 3 partners along with your vitals: username / group / swap name.

Q: My friend is an awesome artist. Can they draw the tattoo for me?
A: Nope.

Q: But I suck at drawing. Please?
A: So do I. Chill out.

Q: Do I have to use a Sharpie®?
A: Nope. They're just really good markers but you can use what's available to you.

Q: Isn't a Sharpie® a permanent marker? Won't it be hard to wash off?
A: Yes and yes.

Q: Can't I just post my photo on Flickr and send my partners a link?
A: You can post the photo on Flickr, but please attach the photo to your email as well.

This is sweet!! Also, Sharpie isn't too tough to get off; it just takes a little bit of scrubbing. I have two real geek tattoos though, can we do one where we swap photos of those too?? ;)

Maybe. There would have to be an interest from enough people who have geeky tattoos, plus the host would have to have them too ... I don't have any :(

I have a geeky tattoo myself and would be interested in a swap like that :-)

I have a geeky tattoo... well, 4 of my tattoos could be considered geeky but one is really much more geeky than the others. I was going to put in a pic of that one too, even before I read the comments. :D

I love henna... can I use that?

wunderland 06/18/2010 #

Oh, for sure @user2637 ... include any extra pics you want! And henna is fine @hollycm6 ... as long as it's geeky and not traditional Mehndi. (but I suppose you could incorporate something dorky into a Mehndi design, that would be pretty neat actually)

I doodle on myself all the time when I get bored trying out things I might actually like to get tattooed so I like this idea. A real tattoo swap would be cool to, but mine are a little hard to photograph by myself since I have a full backpiece, and I don't think mine qualify as geeky.

Rubbing alcohol helps get permanent ink off of your skin. Drinking alcohol helps you not care you have permanent ink on your skin.
