Description:

12/13/07 The pictured circle was done by Vintageprincess, what you can't see by the picture is that it was paper folded~She did an outstanding job! Of course they all we're my favorite picks~~~~~LOL

This is a Christmas circle book using a cd as your templete. You are to do both sides! Please place your name or swapbot id somewhere on the back side. Make the front like a chunky page but remember to leave 1/4 of the left side of the circle without ANYTHING bulkie (this would be ribbon/brads/3-D stickers) & the back you can leave as plain as you want but the back it should be finished but doesn't need to be as decorative. Stamp, color, paint or build a snowman~just do it...add ribbon and chunkie stuff! Make this something that your proud of~

RULES: (gotta have some)

  1. First if your a newbie you will have plenty of time to get a rating~You must not have more then two no sents, that's for everyone
  2. You will make 10 but only send one to each of your partners.
  3. So this swap is open to anyone with a rating of 4.7 or over.

About Binding

Most of us do not have those nifty coil puncher things. If you have access to one, great. Kinkos or places like that have this service that are very inexpensive. If you can't do that, we will get by just fine. Take a paper punch (larger than normal if possible) and punch two or three holes on the left side. Then you can tie your book together with decorative ribbon or use those rings that open and close (found in the office supplies) Either way, this would make a great gift if you can dare to part with it when your done!

PLEASE leave the LEFT hand side of the circle free of ANY ribbon or anything that would make punching it a chore!!!!!

SO cool now that we have nine!!! I'll change the wording on the swap so that it's just USA to save us all postage!! Thanks for joining~~~~jakfrostwife

gatorsmom 09/19/2007 #

I am very curious about this swap - it sounds great - but I'm a bit confused. Would I make the entire book for my partner? Or is this a pass around/round robin sort of thing where everyone will decorate a page? Can you clarify? Thanks

vintageprincess 09/22/2007 #

Hey folks ~ Why are we going backwards with the number of people in the swap? These circle books are really cool. I am in a Halloween circle swap currently and am getting some great pages. Can't wait to put it together with some funky halloween fibers and I think I am going to put it together accordian still (my artsy daughter's idea). I already have my idea for my Christmas page. Oh, we have until November to sign up so there is still lots of time. :+} Lana

vintageprincess 09/22/2007 #

Ooops! That should be accordian style not still. That will teach me to proofread before I send it. :+] Lana

cookiebear 09/25/2007 #

Have just had great fun with the bird-themed circular book and would love to join this one as well if you could open it up beyond "U.S. only". Or maybe host an Int'l version (with earlier dates so that we can avoid having to send the pages via air mail if postage rates are an issue). :o)

Retromama 09/26/2007 #

I was hoping someone would create a Christmas Circle Book!!! Thanks, jakfrostwife! I had so much fun with the Halloween Circle Book. I punch one hole in my circle page and put a metal ring in, so others could put their pages on the ring (if so inclined).

jakfrostwife 10/ 3/2007 #

Heck, I can't figure out why it's going backwards either? The Halloween one was so much fun~except that I think the post office and me are having more then words~I put my circle in a nice large evenlope and got them back the next day? So, I put them in a larger 5x7 and they went fine? I some time's thing that the postguys go and get my mail just to make a point that they think I'm cheating the postoffice? Since the letter rate was 41cents and the other was 80cents? Oh, well~this should be just as funky and fun!! Thanks for joining! I would love to add AS (Cookiebear) since it's not that much more then the USA rate. What does everyone think?

cindynvb 10/ 5/2007 #

Hi, this sounds interesting but I have a question. What kind of base do you use?
I'm thinking watercolor paper would be sturdy enough but still punchable. Will that be good? What is everyone else using? I'm also assuming that the person recieving the page will be the one to punch the holes in it. I hope I have the time to join this one...

cookiebear 10/ 5/2007 #

Just a quick note to let everyone know that pages for me would be coming to Canada, not AS, if you decide to open up the swap beyond US only. With fingers crossed.....[chuckle,chuckle]

jakfrostwife 10/ 8/2007 #

Water color paper with a weight of 80# is fine~you want something that can hold up to people turning it or "flipping it" on the ring.....so if you think it's not going to bend then use it! I've seen some with chip board in the middle and other's that just use card stock so play around with it and see what works for you~

If you where in the Halloween one, we got things across the board but it's making up to a nice "circle book".

I've not heard one way or the other if people don't want to mail to Canada so I'll say "yes".....

cookiebear 10/ 9/2007 #

Yippee![chuckle, chuckle]. You may want to change your header, etc. to read something other than "USA only". I may not be the only one hoping to join! Thankyou!

jakfrostwife 10/11/2007 #

Shoot~~your right??? duh.......

fromthepines 10/12/2007 #

I am from Canada too, so I can join too? Hooray! I just did the bird one and I loved it! I want to start collecting these and put them all in a CD clear holder as a book. I wish I'd seen the Halloween one - that would be neat. Thanks! So, I make 10 and keep one for myself and send out one to 9 other people right?

Cocoa 10/16/2007 #

It might be too late but I think Cookiebear should be alowed to join. I live in PA and I sent a swap to her and one to a gal in CA. The one to CA cost more!

jakfrostwife 10/16/2007 #

No Cookiebear HAS joined~I know about the mailing..... I live in WA as in state and it cost more to mail to Cailf sometimes then BC Canada~

Nathalie 10/19/2007 #

WOuld anyone be interested to swap with me? (INTL) Please mail me.

gurugurl 10/21/2007 #

OK - I'm confused. Is this just one page for a circle book or 10 whole books? I've never done a circle one before but I've done the 4 x 4 chunky books.

jakfrostwife 10/21/2007 #

OK, Nathalie is from Belgium. So I know this is suppose to be from USA but does anyone NOT want to swap with her? PM please..check below

And gurugurl girl, your to make one CIRCLE per partner. BUT your right on line about the circle being just like a 4x4, except it's done on a circle fashion. IF you've not seem them~get ready to have your socks knocked off!! They are so cute........I add mine onto to the "jump rings" just by punching a hole on the left side and making the book like that~simple and easy to see all the great work that you ladies do!

If you have more questions, then just email me! Doris

Nathalie 10/25/2007 #

Thanks for letting me participate ; )

rebowyer2000 10/29/2007 #

okay, i want to have this clarified for myself, even though with all the discussion i should be able to figure it out. what i would make is ten small, round, textured scrapbook pages (although without photos), and send one to each of my assigned partners. i would then receive ten pages, which i would bind into a unique little book. do i have that right?

jakfrostwife 10/30/2007 #

YES!! You have it right! When your done, you will have a great little booklet with 10 different pages from all of us....now you can put it on jump ring (just punch one hole on all pages) or you can punch holes and use ribbon to "bind" it. You can even make yourself a great cover or not.....these books don't really need a cover. BUT if you want to name the book with the swap/year, it's a great way of remembering who made what or why......

I personal put mine on a "jump ring" so that I can flip thru it, looking at all your great work! Plus it's fun to put all the ribbon left over from Christmas onto the ring and it looks so.....shabby chich!!! (what else are you going to do with that ribbon, say not "throw it away".....)

ozrob 11/ 9/2007 #

I hope it's ok for me to join, I'm in Australia. I got excited about this when I saw it and want to start making my pages now! One question- can the pages be all the same?

TraySeeH 11/ 9/2007 #

I am not sure what this is, does anyone have a link with photos & or directions. Everyone seems so excited.

Tracy

Nathalie 11/16/2007 #

Mine are leaving in todays mail

Cocoa 11/27/2007 #

My Christmas Circles are in the mail. I recevied my first one from Austrial. I can't wait to get the other 8 and make my book. This was so much fun!

jakfrostwife 11/28/2007 #

I so happy to see that they are "rolling" in the mail now ~cause that's what circles do! Anyone that might need a wee bit of more time, please email your partners to give them the heads up!

You swappers ROCK (can I add "roll" too?) LOL

Happy Holidays~D

Retromama 11/30/2007 #

The Christmas Circles have left the house! I have opened some really nice circles at my house, everyone is so talented. Thanks for the swap, Jakfrostwife.

jakfrostwife 12/ 4/2007 #

Ho, ho, ho~ by now some of you should of received some of the circles~if you could would you please upload them so all can see and share in the "gallery" on this swap~ Thanks for playing and swapping~~Jakfrostwife

artzylady 12/ 5/2007 #

OK, someone sent me a great candy cane pencil in with the circle page. I put it on my desk while I opened the other circles so I could rate them all at once. Now I forget who sent the pencil. I owe someone a thanks!

Linda B.

cmhatcstamper 12/ 6/2007 #

Glad you liked the pencil:) I thought it would be a fun way to commerate our swap. Cheers, Chris H.

gurugurl 12/ 6/2007 #

I've really gotten some great pages from this. I'm embarrassed to have mailed mine out, now. I haven't been feeling very festive so I kind of had creative block. I hope no one is terribly disappointed. Thanks to everyone for all their hard work.

vintageprincess 12/10/2007 #

I have received 8 Christmas circles and waiting on the 9th one to complete my book. This has been fun!... thank you for hosting Jakfrostwife and Merry Christmas everyone! Lana

ozrob 12/10/2007 #

I've received 7 great pages so far! still waiting on 2. I sent mine out ages ago and have only been rated for 4, so I don't know if they have all been received yet.

Cocoa 12/10/2007 #

One to go! I did put my book together and made a cover for it. This was a fun swap and I would have loved to seen everyones pages. Lets do this again! Thanks Jakfrostwife. Merry Christmas

ozrob 12/11/2007 #

I have one to go......then I'll take pics of all them together and upload it to my flickr. I too, would love to see everyones books. This has been such a great swap, I hope to see another one soon. Maybe a Valentine theme or Easter would be fun :o)

Cocoa 12/12/2007 #

Why not both?

artzylady 12/12/2007 #

I got the last of my pages today. I can't wait to put my book together. This has been a fun swap.

ozrob 12/17/2007 #

see all my pages I have received HERE

cmhatcstamper 12/17/2007 #

Ozrob-thanks so much for sharing your pics:) Cheers, Chris

Cocoa 12/17/2007 #

Great photos. Thanks for sharing

gurugurl 12/28/2007 #

I'm still missing 4 pages. :-( I'm giving it until after the holidays to see if they show up. I've contacted everyone and they've been most helpful and willing to replace the pages if they never show up. I've lost a little faith in the postal service. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I've done as many swaps as I have and haven't had any bad luck until now.

Cocoa 01/ 3/2008 #

I'm still waiting for one.
