Description:

Oh, Halloween.. my favorite time of year! I just love all the little toys, candies, jewelry, and tchotchkes that I accumulate this time of year! Now's your chance to share your goodies with another swapper!

You will have 1 partner and you will decorate and fill a jar that is AT LEAST 8oz. (plastic or glass) with Halloween related items -- small toys, candies, ribbons, QUALITY stickers, window clings, scrapbooking/'craft embellishments, jewelry, etc. This is Sender's Choice, so you can start getting together some goodies now. PLEASE decorate your jar, too, so your partner can use it during the Halloween season to hold candies and whatnot. Make something you'd be proud to share!

Rating of at least a 4.8, and no unexplainable 1s. If you have 3s, please PM me with an explanation. Newbies welcome with WELL-FILLED OUT profile. I reserve the right to ban!

PLEASE, NO FLAKERS! USA/Canada only due to postage costs.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

Happy Swapping and Happy Halloween!!

In the description, it says USA only, but in the regional section it includes Canada and the US. Can Canadians join this swap? :) Thanks!

Karenmomofthree 08/19/2010 #

Yes we Canadians can join! I hope you will!

just made my jar, so excited! Could not find a one cup one so this one is larger, hope my partner doesn't mind!

heatherface 08/24/2010 #

Yes, USA and Canada is correct. I changed it so my BFF Karen could join :) All Canadians are welcome!

Yay soooo excited! My birthday's the 26th, so Halloween is extra special, and I'm so looking forward to the jar as a sweet birthday treat! Thanks for making this Canada friendly too!

This is my first whimsey jar swap - I hope that I do this right! LOL I'm thinking that my jar is going to be pretty big, though...so, whoever my partner is, you'll be getting some pretty funky stuff. =)

Jester777 09/17/2010 #

I gotta say this is a pretty quick Whimsey Jar, I mean it's like a week to make it, whew!

I would join but would hate to get a jar full of candy that I cannot eat because I am vegan...

Missmuffcake, if I was your partner I would make sure no candy and make it vegan friendly, I would hope others would as well!

LADYHIGHTOWER 09/23/2010 #

Missmuffcake, I would be happy to honor your request also!

yogag33k 09/23/2010 #

I'm the same way missmuffcake. I don't care for candy.

I've never sent a whimsey jar before- how do you package them to ensure they do not break?? Any tips on shipping would be greatly appreciated.

heather1971 09/24/2010 #

I am just about done creating mine. Just waiting to see who my partner is before I finish filling it!

heatherface 09/25/2010 #

@Jester777 that's why I made it sender's choice. @RachelScissorhands I recommend using a plastic jar that isn't too big (size requirements are at least 8oz.) I like to wrap mine in bubble wrap and use a small box. When you send it, ask the post office to mark it as Fragile. I've never had a problem with breakage when sending mine!

Jester777 09/27/2010 #

I wish I could find some cute plastic jars... but it just doesn't seem to happen up here > . <

coffeegirl18 09/29/2010 #

Ah I used a plastic cracker jar...and decorated it myself. :D
