Description:

I decided to set up a swap from jeremiahworkhard's idea of "Remember Me." Everyone had their own story and once they were dead that story could have been forgotten. And, sometimes, the info you find out about a person gives a personal experience of a historical event.

For this swap, you can include a gravestone or a memorial. You will email the picture of the gravestone or memorial then either write up your research of the person on the gravestone or memorial or put links to info about that person in your email. You could choose one of your own ancestors and write up the oral family history that you have heard. If you have a subscription to Ancestory.com that is a great site to use, but if not here are some other sites that you may find useful:

www.familysearch.org

www.rootsweb.com

www.usgenweb.com

Also, your local library may have access to Heritage Quest or Ancestry Plus which is also quite helpful. If anyone should have any questions about the research part please just ask. I will give a month to do the research in case this is a new venture for some. This should put less pressure on someone when doing the research or give a someone more time to get as much as you can.

Newbies are welcome, but anyone with a low profile rating will be banned.

I would so be into this if it was a snail-mail swap. Maybe in the future??

tishous - I thought I would try the swap first as electronic then try a snail mail version. I will host a snail mail version soon.
