Description:

Craft goddess and ETSY.com-guru Emily Martin gave away one of her basic doll patterns a few years on Martha Stewart. It's call a Black Apple doll. It's a basic little rag doll pattern. I've made quite a few in my time. If you dig into your scrap bin -- you can mix and match fabrics and make something great.

The finished doll is about 12 inches tall. I thought it would be fun to do a little swap. Everyone uses the same pattern but adds their own creative touches. Here's a link to the pattern and tut:

As for swap requirements:

Doll must be sewn and doll must be made of fabric. (Felt hair and accessories are ok but I'm thinking the body and face should be fabric.) Swappers must have completed at least 10 type-3 swaps Absolutely no 1s on your profile.(Message me if you think you have a compelling reason why I should overlook that) 4.85 profile rating or better. Please consider your partner's profile but ultimately this is sender's choice. (This means if you get a sewn doll in a timely manner, please give a 5 rating.)

I want to join but the swap date is to close with the holidays only ending a week before. Please consider changing it.

What if I pushed sendouts back a week or maybe 10 days? Would that help?

Wish this was in February.

:( I'm a newbie so I only have 2 Type 3 swaps so far, and 3 coming up this month. Oh well, next time. I've been wanting to make rag dolls for my friends' little girls, so thanks for the link! :)

what a shame it's not international, they wouldn't weigh a lot to send..

10 days would work for me.

ok--I pushed back send outs so we can all take a breather from the holidays. I agree it could be a fun international swap. Someone is welcome to host an international version.

What a great craft to do while waiting for winter to end! I hope you will allow me to join. I love the way you did the hair on the dolls. Sometimes we need a little silliness and cuteness in our lives!

ok partners were assigned last night. I am hoping this is a small--but quality swap! Please let me and your partner know if you're having problems or issues. Thanks!

Finished my partners doll a few days ago. I'm just having some difficulties in getting to the post office right now. If the weather cooperates; she'll be on her way by midweek. Lot's of fun!
