Yo @crescendo this one's for you and long overdue so I hope you can join :).

I did this one for The Revolution a (long) while back and my buddy @crescendo wanted to do one here but I was all like "ehhhh, I don't know, it's a guy thing...blah blah blah..." Well, fine, almost two years later and I'm letting the girls (and any guys) in this group have a go at it because, well, i want to do another one and you people are fun:

So, a lot of the women here make these "whimsy jars" where they decorate a jar and fill it with craft stuff...yeah, we're not doing that.

What you're going to do:

  1. Take a beer can (or a soda can, if you don't drink) and cut the top off.
  2. Fill your can with stuff like food or something that your partner would like.
  3. Seal the end of your can with duct tape.
  4. Stick it in a box and send it to your partner.
  5. Enjoy another beer (or soda).

I may just have to come out of swap-hibernation for this one.

How do you get the top off of the can? Won't it be sharp?

voodooninja 02/ 3/2011 #

kitchen shears work well...don't cut yourself. cover the edges with duck tape to be safe if you want.

voodooninja 02/ 3/2011 #

or a can opener should actually work too.

jannieb 02/ 7/2011 #

Ok...electric can opener worked. Thanks for the tips!

Dang, I don't drink soda or beer (well I WOULD drink beer if I could, but that's another story) so will have to grovel in the dumpster for a can, heh, gross.

If we put mailing labels on the outside of the can, we should be able to mail these "naked". Is that allowed?

voodooninja 02/19/2011 #

If you want to mail it naked you could but the possibility of crushing is greater (it is an aluminum can after all).
