QnT Quilt Block De-Stash R#2

--one partner

--at least one good clean quilt block (any size, color, or pattern)

--name of the block and a little data about why it was made

I’m thinking that you if are like me you have quilts you’ve started and didn’t finish, as well as extra quilt blocks left over from previous projects just sitting in quilt-block limbo.

This is an opportunity to put those quilt blocks to good use. You should send at least one (well made and clean) quilt block to your partner but you can make this package as big or as small as you want. If you have a whole project started and will never finish it, then this is your opportunity to share it. If you have several extra quilt blocks from different projects you don’t need…send ‘em!

Don’t send the quilt block you forgot a part on, or didn’t do your best sewing on. Send good, clean, pressed items. If you have additional pieces for more blocks or the pattern or any other items that pertain to the block and won’t need or use them again, send that too! Send the name of the quilt block, or why you made it. A little story behind the block might just be the inspiration recipients need.

What does this benefit the recipients? Well, I look at it as an opportunity to be inspired for a new quilt, or you might want to make a mini art quilt from the block you receive, or a tote bag. I get excited just looking at other quilters work.

This is my opportunity to get those quilt-blocks out of limbo, and out of the sight of family members who like to say, “when are you ever gonna finish that?” (aka: orphan blocks)

If this swap receives good response, we’ll probably do it every couple months. Personally, I have a back-log of things I could send. I’m a fickle quilter, what more needs to be said?!

The last round of the swap turned out great for me....and I think my partner was happy too!
