Description:

This swap is for scrapbookers in the USA. (International scrappers can find a second version of the swap at http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/8356.)

The goal is to fill a Priority Mail Tyvek Envelope full of scrapbooking supplies. (You may order these envelopes free of charge at USPS.com. Be sure they are the Tyvek envelopes rather than the cardboard. They are Item # EP 14. I'd prefer to use these envelopes for this swap as these envelopes will hold a lot of supplies, flat and bulky, and also be weatherproof and rip-proof. Go ahead and order them now if your local post office doesn't have some on hand.)

The supplies you send should be preferably new. However, I think none of us would mind if our partner had some "extra" supplies in their own stash that are in "like new" condition (out of original package but unused) that either they have too much of, or they discovered that the item wouldn't work for their scrapbooking needs after all. For example, perhaps you bought a package of dimensional stickers (like the Jolee brand) but used 4 out of 5 of them and have an extra one you wouldn't have a use for. You may pass on items like that. Pass on only quality supplies in a condition that you would like to receive.

The value of the items sent should be at least $20. Determining the value of brand new, in original package, items is easy. To determine the value of out-of-package, or "extras in my stash" items, just plan on filling the envelope with a variety and generous quantity of supplies. You can use your discretion when value-ing like new, out-of-package, extras. I'm sure all my scrapbooking swappers will be fair and generous.

Ideas: brads, die-cuts, papers, stickers, embellishments, ribbon, fibers, beads, buttons, punches, stencils, pens, chalks, scrapbooking magazines/idea sheets, scrapbooking tools, little kits, tags, photo corner mounts, pockets, vellum, quotes, etc...

A final note, if you send brads or jewel embellishments or small items like this, please put these in a ziploc baggy, or any sort of packaging that closes, to prevent a bunch of tiny items from spilling out on your partner.

In consideration of postage costs, this is a USA swap. Sign-ups will end at the end of October, and you'll have 2 weeks to put together and send your packages by November 14th.

Swappers must have a rating of at least 4.7 with a minimum of 5 swaps performed.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or email me.

Any chances of you hosting a smaller-scale one for international swappers? :) Love the idea, but a pity I'm not in the USA!

shopinc, sure I could consider hosting an international one, too. When you say "smaller scale", do you mean smaller swap value (maybe $5 or $10?) or do you mean smaller envelope?

I'd love to hear ideas of what you'd like to see in this swap on an international level. :)
