Description:

I was inspired by @stiffneck78 s cemetery photo swap to create this series of swaps, and I hope we can all have fun with it. :-) The first three rounds went well, so here's #4.

Each participant will have two partners to send to. You will send each partner two of your own favorite photos (ie that you've taken yourself). These will feature architecture of some kind - please make it something interesting! :-) Ie unusual buildings, perhaps typical of your country or area ... not just a standard apartment building, but something you won't see everywhere. With that limitation though it's sender's choice. Photos must be professionally printed or, if printed at home, using a good quality color printer on real photo paper. NO prints on regular paper. Standard size, 4x6. You will include a note to the recipient explaining what the photos show and where you took them. Write as much as you want, of course. :-) Feel free to decorate the envelope, but that's not a requirement.

4.9 ratings to participate ... but since this is an easy and low-cost swap, newbies are welcome too with good profiles. I will be screening everyone who joins though, and I can and will ban anyone I choose, at my discretion. I want this swap to be a good experience for everyone who takes part. :-)

If I've left anything out or you're wondering about anything, just ask. :-) Preferably in the swap comments so that we can all learn from your questions. :-)

What about photos you've had printed professionally but aren't the standard 4x6 inches? Snapfish offers what they call "true digital" print size, which measures 4x5.3. I usually order that size for my digital photos because it prevents them from being cropped to fit a 4x6 frame.

That doesn't sound like a problem to me, it's fine if you send that format. :-)

Great! I'm in!

Does architecture entail only the outside of the building or do interesting insides qualify? :)

Windowfog 03/ 2/2011 #

I do like the idea of interesting inner structures.

Hmm ... an interesting question. How about this: we'll do only exteriors in this round, and then the next swap in the series will be interiors and interior details. :-)

I can go for that. Thanks. :)

I have a quick question. Can we send two pictures of the same building just differnt views or do we send two totally differnt buildings. I was going to send two pictures of the same building and a little note talking about the building so my partner can have a better look and understanding of the place I am sending.

Either way is OK ... just make sure the two views of the same building - if you go with that - are different enough to both be interesting. :-)
