7/17/2011 It seems I only have to angel 1 atc. If you received your atc please rate your partner. If you have not received your atc within 2 weeks after the send date please PM your partner. Never leave bad ratings with out first trying to resolve the issues through PM.

Today is the 11th, the date to send your atc is July 12th. If you have sent be sure to click the sent button. I you received an atc be sure to rate your partner

7/1/2011. I have assigned partners. This is done randomly by swapbot. Please send to your partner on or before July 12th. once you have sent your swap don't forget to click the "sent button" when you receive an atc from your partner, please rate them. click the "rate partner" link.

From Wikipedia Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern baseball cards,[1] or 2 ½ X 3 ½ inches (63 mm X 89 mm),[2] small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.[3] The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement and has its origins in Switzerland.[4] Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or cloth. The cards are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold

You will create 1 atc and send it to 1 partner, this is senders choice and open to to any theme and artistic medium!. I want to get beginners into ATC's exited about this wonderful art form!

Your cards need to be sturdy, mounted on card stock or other thick backing. Sign, date, and give a title for your work on the back of your card. Also it's also a good idea to put your user name on your card, there are many websites you can go to to get inspiration

I will be checking profiles 100%, any blank profiles will be removed from swap. Any recent 3's in last 2 months will be removed and any recent 1's in last 4 months that are unexplained will be removed

This however is a newbie friendly swap, but I will still be checking profiles to ban any iffy swappers. Also this swap is for artist just getting into atc's, so no negative critiques alloud in ratings

ratings: 5♥ if you love it...........5, if it met swap requirements......3 if swap did not meet requirements..........1 if not received........

You must put time and effort into your atc!, please make something you are proud to share and would want to receive

Have fun! Happy Swapping!

This is listed as a Type 1-swap, isn't this supposed to be Type 2? :)

Candyn29 06/13/2011 #

Sorry, It is a type 3 swap. Lately I have been forgetting little things like that, Thank You for letting me know.

Candyn29 06/13/2011 #

Some people classify these as type 2, I classify as type 3 since more effort should be involved

funkymommy 06/13/2011 #

I am signing up for my first swap and don't want to botch it :D How do I find who I am suppose to swap with? And is the card size firm? Thanks all

Candyn29 06/13/2011 #

Hello, When I assign partners will be between July 1st and 3rd, depending on how many profiles I need to read. Swapbot has a random partner selection, so once I assign partners you will see clicky links the yellow box up there. One link will say, "see partners you send to" and another clicky will say "click here when you have sent"

Please only click "sent" once you actually mail it. I will help any newbies more on this subject when partners are assigned.

Card size: the standards for ATC's are strictly the size listed above, or the size of a playing card,

You can embellish cards with brads, ribbon, buttons, jewels, beads...the list goes on and on, card styles can be hand drawn, painted, collage, mixed media, stamped and embossed...........

funkymommy 06/13/2011 #

Thanks candy :D

aether 06/13/2011 #

I consider ATCs type 3 also. ATCs are SO NOT type 2s.

Thank you for doing a beginners ATC. I have thought about doing them but I wouldn't want to disappoint someone if mine wasn't too great. I love inchies so this should be fun. I am just watching now til closer to the date to make sure nothing comes up like an unexpected vacation or anything.

funkymommy 06/20/2011 #

just to let you know we are in the middle of a postal strike up here - hope it is over by the time I have to post. will keep you updated

Candyn29 06/20/2011 #

Hello @funkymommy I sure hope that postal strike ends soon! If it's not over on the sign up date, you may wanna drop here. The U.S. is not even putting mail through the you guys now, we'd have to ship global express and that's over $20. I really hope the mail gets resolved soon, there a a bunch over ladies in Canada missing their mail!

Hi, Candyn29 is there any way that you can look at my profile? I have been looking at others and trying to expand it as I go. I just found swap-bot today, and I am already in LOVE!! But, I really don't want to screw up by not having it full enough, but I would love to join this swap if I am able. Thank you

Candyn29 06/23/2011 #

@SJsCraftyMom your profile is fine.

from USPS website about mail to Canada

U.S. Postal Service to Suspend Accepting Mail to Canada This Weekend Global Express Guaranteed Service Continues Without Delay

WASHINGTON — Due to the expectation by Canada Post officials that the strike by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers will last until at least sometime next week, the U.S. Postal Service will suspend accepting mail destined to Canada — effective Saturday, June 18, 2011, 11:59 p.m. CDT — with the exception of Global Express Guaranteed shipments.

“As a convenience to our customers and to minimize service disruptions, we arranged to accept mail destined for Canada as long as possible,” said Giselle Valera, vice president, Global Business. “We will continue to closely monitor the strike situation, and once Canada Post resumes operations, the U.S. Postal Service will again begin accepting mail for Canada. We also will then resume processing any Canadian-destined mail currently held in our network.”

To avoid service disruptions or delays — regardless of the duration of the strike at Canada Post — U.S. Postal Service customers can continue to send letters and packages via the Postal Service's Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) service. GXG is a premium, date-certain international shipping option with international transportation and delivery by FedEx Express. GXG is available online at www.usps.com and at thousands of participating retail locations throughout the United States.

Additional information and updates regarding acceptance and movement of international mail is available at www.usps.com/communications/news/serviceupdates.htm.

If I don't hear anything different by June 30, I will have to drop anyone from joining that live in Canada, this is a very sad situation, but I don't want people getting bad ratings because of the postal service

SpikeyLisa 07/ 1/2011 #

So glad you're doing a beginners ATC swap as I have been wanting to try this. It's a wee bit intimidating when you read through some swaps and see the amazing galleries.

pinkcamo1980 07/ 1/2011 #

I already have mine done I can't wait to send it out :) This will be my first swap and I am really excited since I don't meet the requirements for many of the other swaps.
