About Me

Hello, all. I am new to pen-paling and have fallen in love with the hobby. I am 33 year old stay at home mom. My husband, Fred, and I have been together for 12 years and we have 2 beautiful, sassy girls together. Reagan is 7 and a social butterfly and always the life of the party. Madison is 5 and possibly the sweetest, most cherub-faced girl ever born. She has a rare genetic disorder that causes difficult to control seizures as well as developmental and cognitive delays. She functions physically at around 3-6 months old, so she requires 24/7 care but has honestly been the light of our lives. She has a hard time doing things but she IS "in there", she is very smart and although she is non-verbal, she is not afraid to tell you what she needs and she loves people. Her needs, along with Reagan's hyper-activity keeps my hands full! Being a special needs SAHM can get lonely and for a long time lost myself. However, branching out and finding hobbies- first Bullet Journaling, which has now lead me to penpal-ing has been the things that help me find myself and provide the creative outlet that I VERY MUCH needed in my life!

I love to organize and often feel that I will never be done organizing my craft room/supplies. I'm always trying to figure out how to make finding things easier- lol. I recently bought myself a cricut explore air 2 and am slowly learning how to use it! lol. My hope is that with it, I can make the things I want instead of having to physically store so many packages of dies and stickers and whatnot.

I have never been the most crafty person, but I TRY. I put my heart into creating mails and while things may not be perfect, I often over-compensate with extra goodies and whatnot. Also, my life often gets hectic at the drop of a hat because my daughter has a lot of medical appts , medications to keep track of and has emergency hospital admissions. If these things delay anything to do with a swap, I will do my best to communicate the issue! I just kind of wanted to put that out there!

I am very much still new to pen pal/mails and am still developing a "style". I do not want to limit myself but my current obsession is pretty papers. I've been buying beautiful scrap book paper pads recently and can not pick a favorite. I tend to lean towards bright florals and the coordinating papers with them. However, I also lovelovelove vintage/kraft papers!

I've been very much into collaging in my pen pal letters and my bullet journals alike!

With the few mails I've completed, I've been doing color themes. I like themed mail!

LIKES: Themed mail, vintage, kraft, florals, embellishments, washi tape, washi stickers, die cuts, fussy cuts, stickers, pretty papers, watercolor, pastels, muted colors, muted tones, Kawaii, stationery sets, letter sets, ephemera, old looking things, lace

DISLIKES: ... It would be hard to disappoint me. As long as I can tell you put thought & heart into your letter &swap, I will be happy. :) I most look forward to the letter- (which is my favorite part- I started this to make connections & only secondly to share my wealth of paper craft goodies!)

Comment: What a beautiful envelope flip book! Thank you so much for the love, care and incredible effort you took to making this swap so special! I can’t wait to use all the goodies, especially the little embellished tags you made! They are so beautiful! I appreciate all the little fussy cut embellishments, and stickers, too! I’ve never bought a digital paper pack before, and didn’t even realize you could use the Cricut to cut the dies! I’m so inspired and determined to try it out myself! Love love loved this! Thank you so much!

Comment: Wowza, Bethany! It is an absolute honor to be the recipient of your first swap - and such a lovely one it is! I absolutely adore what you sent. It’s more than evident that you put time creating this swap specifically for me - dandelions and vintage abound!!! The book you made to hold the crafted items was fabulous, in and of itself, and I can’t wait to put the crafting items to use. Thank you so very much!
