I’m hoping to find pen pals in the most classic way possible through snail mail. I think there's beauty and uniqueness in handwritten letters, the anxiousness in waiting for mail to arrive, and taking the time to receive the words and think about what to write back. I’d love to connect with women in their 20s (like me) who are also looking for a genuine friendship and long-term pen pal rather than a quick exchange that fades away. A little about me: I’m someone who loves nostalgia and creativity. Old movies are a comfort for me, and my music tastes 100% jazz, disco, yacht rock, and swing, but I really do enjoy almost every genre. I like baking and cooking, and experimenting in the kitchen for fun. I collect vinyl records, practice yoga, and always have a book nearby. I gravitate toward memoirs, autobiographies, history, and fiction, and I've been attempting (with mixed success) to read more sci-fi. For shows I love: The Bear, The Pitt, Love Is Blind, any documentary series, Succession, Bob’s Burgers, Bluey, Shrinking, Abbott Elementary, English Teacher, The Amazing World of Gumball, and I Think You Should Leave. I hope to gain a close friendship from having a pen pal. I want to write about day-to-day life, little moments, and also the things you can never bring yourself to say out loud but can write honestly on paper. I’d love to exchange prompts or small challenges, like themes to write about or creative things to send. Overall, I’m really looking forward to getting to know someone thoughtfully letter by letter.

I hope this message finds you well. I am thrilled to share some wonderful news about the future of our community. Over the past few months, our group has grown beautifully on the Swap-bot platform, fostering engaging film discussions, thoughtful conversations, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Your enthusiasm and participation have truly made these months successful.

However, we have also faced some challenges with Swap-bot, including limited security, occasional website crashes, and the platform's visual organization feeling overwhelming to new users. After careful consideration, the SSCC team has decided to move away from Swap-bot to create a better, safer, and more accessible environment for all members.

We are proud to announce that we have developed our own dedicated website! This new platform will allow us to implement enhanced security measures, improve accessibility, and provide a more seamless experience for everyone. It also opens up exciting opportunities for growth, more social activities, and a stronger sense of community.

Our current swaps will continue on Swap-bot until the end of this month. Starting in July, all new events will be hosted exclusively on our new website.
