I like to experiment with art forms, crafts, ATCs - I also make jewelry. I also make my own cards, love playing with paper, do some collages and journals - and I like to sew, weave and just play with fabric, yarn, etc.
I am willing to swap ATCs, jewelry, supplies, journals, cards, and fiber arts things - and am open to other things. I'd rather do USA and Canada, due to the cost of postage.
I like getting interesting beads and charms to use in my jewelry and other craft supplies.
I am an artist - I work in a lot of different media, mainly acrylic, pen and ink, block prints, and a technique I've never seen anyone else use with melted wax, ink and watercolor. I have some alcohol ink that I've played with a few times and I want to learn more about using it!
I also do a lot of volunteer work. I am the secretary and newsletter editor for the local historical society and the local Farm Bureau secretary. I recently was elected president of Friends of the Gilmer Public Library as well. I have been making crafts for the historical society gift shop.
Once a month, I get together with a group of artist friends to try new things, show off our latest creations, and just enjoy each other's company. Our local library had 2 of us teaching crafts but Covid19 put and end to that. We also have a craft and fun day at the local historical society as we have plenty of room as well as we make things to sell in our gift shop.
I live 4 miles from a 2 lane road on a 112 acre farm in central West Virginia. I have a dog named Dude (my other dog died this week; she was almost 13)...
My older granddaughter also lives here with her dairy goats and her dogs. She also has a full time job, goes to goat shows and gets involved in all sorts of things, too.
Now her sister and both her husband and mother in law are planning to move into our old cabin, so it will be busy around here!
They have 2 younger brothers... this year (2022) the older one will be 17 and the younger one is 6. The older one lived here until this year, when he decided to move in with his dad. I have 2 other grandsons, who have families of their own: one has a 4 year old daughter; the other has a 2 year old son. They live in Pennsylvania.
My husband died in 2015 and my oldest son died in 2018. My middle son lives in Utah and my youngest son lives nearby in West Virginia.
Coffee, cats, zombies, yellow, skeletons, and stinky candles or scented soap!
I read mysteries, adventure novels, books on making jewelry, artist biographies - and lots of magazines like Country Sampler, Country Living, Mother Earth News, Back Woods Home, Mary Jane's Farm, Better Homes and Gardens, and other ones I pick up here and there. I love to read the Stampington Company magazines on crafts but I'm too cheap to subscribe to them!! I like getting print magazines as I can cut them up for collage projects. I once collaged a kitchen wall with food pictures from magazines ( my husband thought I was nuts! ) and I did a bathroom with maps ( everyone liked that project).
