Programmer by day, circus performer by night. Always a nerd, a mom and a maker.
I live in Chapel Hill, NC with my husband, our six kids and a very friendly collie named Krypto. We like to play outdoors, read comic books, hang out at nerdy events/conventions, do crafts together, play board games and work out at the circus.
You can usually find me at my office on Franklin Street, at home with my family or at Triangle Circus Arts in Durham. I perform Partner Acrobatics, Lyra and Fire/LED Fan spinning and dabble in many other circus arts.
I grew up in a Foreign Service family and have lived in England, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, France and the US. I speak fluent French, rusty Spanish, terrible Japanese and a very small amount of German. J'aimerais beaucoup échanger des lettres en français avec vous! 日本語で私に手紙を書いてくれればとてもうれしいですが、私の返事はとても簡単です。
My hobby is trying out new crafts and accumulating large mountains of craft supplies and unfinished projects.
My favorite crafts include leatherwork, sewing, laser-cutting, 3d printing, wire-wrapping, crochet and anything involving a hot glue gun.
I especially enjoy crafting for cosplay. I like to dress up as an elf, witch or viking on a semi-daily basis. If you live in North Carolina and ever want to meet up for an in-costume coffee or lunch send me a message!
I am currently trying to learn more about sewing performance costumes. If you have any tips on how to sew well-fitting stretchy fabric so that it's both sturdy and flexible let me know!
