Hello:

I am a 30 year old widowed dad. My wife died of cancer 2 years ago and I am raising our son Jason.

I am not looking for pity, but for some additonal connections. Northern Virginia is a new place we moved to for my career. Its proving hard to make real friends, even at church. People are nice but not always honest with their intentions. So I am trying an experiment, with the guidance of my pastor, to understand how I connect with strangers when all else is stripped away.

I like postcards, notecards but not much of a collector of material things. I am a Christian so please consider that in the appropriateness your interactions.

I am teaching my son to be kind and open to new experiences/people. Even when those things scare me.

I will figure out more to say as I learn more, so I will close witha smile for now.
