I think it's so cool how you know several languages!! I'm a native Spanish speaker, I took 3 yrs of French in high school, and I've taken a semester of German in college.
if you really do bake my Denmark cake, I would suggest using a 9x12. I think that would work as long as you butter and flour the sides and bottom. It is amazing. I can see why there are endless recipes out there for it. Also, glad you joined the virtual travel group. It has been very eye opening. I know I could not afford to travel to those places, much less find ways to experience all of it.
