APDG ~ Mythological Animals Series ` B

In Breton (Celtic) beliefs, the Bugul Noz, meaning "Night Shepherd", is a fairy spirit who lives in the woodlands of Brittany. He is the last of his kind and is said to be incredibly ugly. His appearance is so awful that even woodland animals avoid him, and he sometimes cries out to warn humans of his approach, so that he won't frighten them. Though not malicious (indeed, rather kind and gentle), he is always alone because of his hideous visage. There aren't many different images of him.

I hope you enjoyed reading about Bugul Noz!

Hello! I'm your partner for APDG Mythological Animals Series A! For my animal/creature, I chose the Air Sylph, AKA Air Elemental, Elemental Air Fae. The term air sylph may have been coined by the physicist and alchemist Paracelsus in the 16th century, but various types of air spirits have been found in the lore of the Celts, the Greeks, and other European ancestors. Air sylphs are invisible and can fly, they have some control over the air element. They are thought to be made of air and are flighty yet intense. They are thought to be the ancestors of angels.

Hi! This is your swap for the APDG ~ Mythological Animals Series ~ LETTER A ;-)
I chose the AOS SI ~ Beautiful men & women spirit creatures!
Aos Si/Aos Sidhe literally translates to, “People of the Mounds,” which acts as testament to their dwelling beneath the earth, or in FairyMounds. In many Gaelic cultures, they are known as, “The Good Neighbors,” or, “The Folk,” which further associates them with Faery lore. They are both honored and feared among the locals, for they can both be benevolent and malevolent creatures depending on how they're treated.

My daughter bought this beautiful Print named Midsummer Eve by Edward Robert Hughes c. 1908...at a flea market ;-)

Enjoy & Blessings, cc

The animal I chose is Asbolus. In Greek mythology, Asbolus was a centaur. He was a Seer,or an auger. He was a diviner who read omens in the flight of birds. His origins are in Greek mythology.
