I wish I could say I had a chance to have some sort of formal art education. I never even took it in high school. Most people I know who did take it said they either were bored or didn't like it, but I bet I could have benefited more from it than countless years spent making non-proportional sketches.
It always makes me interested to see a person's artwork when someone says they are reluctant to show their art. I've found that, in many cases, the person who's shy about it is incredibly talented! You should consider doing private swaps or something!
