Misc scrapbooking papers, gift tags, greeting cards to decorate; brads and embellishments... I am just getting into paper crafting! Right now I am looking especially for Halloween and Christmas stuff! I also need punches of any type and scrapbooking scissors.

Rubber stamps of any kind... new or gently used especially owls, butterflies, initials, skulls, birds, peace signs, Parisian, Victorian, vintage images, commercially made or handmade.

Designs I LOVE

Design wise I love frogs, Happy Bunny, little blue birds, peace signs, moon & stars, Halloween designs, Nightmare before Christmas, Betty Boop, butterflies, skulls, paisleys and batiks. I love Strawberry Shortcake, Tweety, Hello Kitty, Family Guy, Hard Rock Cafe, and Christmas designs too!

For scrapbooking papers.... I love black and white designs ... and red .... lots of red .... and the combination of the two can be amazing!

Colors I LOVE

Color Wise: I love color!! Some of my favorites include turquoise, all blues, pink especially hot pink, purple, jewel tones, dark chocolate brown and other earthy tones. Black and white prints are awesome. Especially when paired with red! Or any bright color paired with a rich brown. Anything paisley is wonderful to me - it does not matter what color! And I love polka dots too in bright colors!

QUILT BLOCKS: For those participating in Nine Patch swaps, I prefer the blocks of 4 to be white fabrics with a design or small floral pattern on them and the 5 blocks to be prints of blue, purple or pink.

For all other quilt blocks, I like the background color to be either black or white with colorful designs. I am really into bright colors these days... blues, pinks, purples, yellows and greens. I guess the only color I really have not clicked with is orange! LOL. Batik prints, swirl designs or small floral patterns would be great!

Any questions for quilt block swaps, please send me a PM. Glad to help! Just remember that I am not a perfect seamstress... and I don't expect you to be either!

Other Things I LOVE

Other things I love: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, all of the Rat Pack really! Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Gone with the Wind. The Thornbirds, Wizard of Oz, Nightmare before Christmas! I love Twilight and Vampires. Do you have any fabric with any of these designs? Or buttons? Or ????

I also LOVE Christmas and the celebration of the holiday! However, I am not religious.

Any questions, please ask!

Beverages

I love coffee and tea! Starbucks is my FAVORITE! I love to drink their instant Via! It is so convenient to make just one cup!

Food

There is not much that I will not eat (LOL!) except I do not like cashews. No allergies!

As a side note, It tends to be hot in the summers in Southern California, so you probably should not send chocolate, unless you put it in a ziploc bag. It will probably melt!

Things I Dislike

Stretchy fabrics, large hawaiian prints (small hawaiian prints are ok), plastic beads, things that smell like cigarette smoke or cigars (yuck!); mean or rude people (super yuck!). I love embroidery, but I do not like anything having to do with cross stitch or needlepoint! It is too hard on my eyes!

All of my kids are grown up, so please do not send me any baby items! I am still too young to be a granny! LOL. Also, no religious items please.

Questions?

I believe the only dumb question is the one you don't ask! So send me a message if you are curious about anything! I don't bite!

Comment: That's such a lovely quilt, Carla. I like the combination of embroidery and quilting. Your intention of focusing on something positive rather than the challenges that presented themselves during the month is reflected well in your beautiful quilt!
Response: 2010 was a tough year. The only way I got through was to focus on the good... and the bad.... I just let that take care of itself! Thanks for the heart! Have a great day!

Comment: heart, heart, heart.....ashamed of myself because the one I sent you was no where near as beautiful...heart, heart to you! Carla, I loved this block, and I keep picturing a whole quilt from these blocks. Thank you so much, you did wonderful work and I'd love to swap yoyo blocks with you again sometime if you are not too disappointed with the one I sent you! If you need me to resend, just let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. Any time you want to do a private swap let me know!
Response: Dottie.... I liked the block you sent. And me too.... I see a quilt from yo yo blocks. I would like to do more of these in the future. I need to work on my applique and design skills. I made a pattern if you want me to send it to you. I am moving right after Christmas but would love to do another YO YO quilt block swap after I move! Thanks for your kind words! Will you put the YoYo in the center ... or leave it out? Just curious!!!

Comment: Thanks for the xerox and note and for doing this swap at a difficult time. I wonder if you want to send the quilt to your BF? Good luck for the two of you.
Response: Hi June. I am not sure what I am going to do with the block. I was thinking of making it into a pillow and sending to him. I think it would make a beautiful pillow, although the pink may be a bit too manly. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the FAB wish! Or I should say wishES. The fabric is gorgeous - absolutely gorgeous - and it'll be great in crazy quilt squares! The girls are at school right now, but will love the lip gloss - can't wait to give it to them! Many thanks for a generous wish-granting! Oh, and your site is fabulous! I went to the link where your tutorial got posted & commented.

Hi-You are one of my partners in "Read and comment on your partner's profile"swap. What a mouth full. I love love love your profile. You have pretty much said it all. I love that you love sewing. I have done a little sewing, and a little quilting. I love to do it but have difficulties with it sometimes. I really was never taught how to sew so I am self taught. I have made some cute thing but not perfect ones. I would image everything you make is wonderful and great. I do love vintage items. I have a few here and there and I know I will find somewhere to put them. I love crafty things and trying to come up with cute little things. I like to collect all sorts of things like you do. Then I usually find a spot for everything. I don't care if things are broken or not, sometimes that's the best thing to put in a little craft place.
I do hope we are able to meet up in another swap sometime.
Take care and happy sewing to you. :)
Linda

Read and Comment on Your Partners Profile Swap" Hello fellow sewing lover. Love your user name. I am a sewing fanatic as well but sadly with working 13 hour days and RN school I don't have as much time to do it as I used to. I saw that someone posted a comment that they no longer make quilts due to no-one to give them to...sad, as I can think of so many people that could use them, homeless shelters, nursing homes, womens shelters, etc. I do however, find time to make soft-sculpture dolls. If you haven't tried it you need to. It is amazing how the little dolls start taking on a personality of their own as you make them. You start out with one thing in mind and they come out entirely different. If you're interested Patti Medaris Culea has some great books on making them. Hope you're staying cool there in California, it is hot here in Florida as well the heat index was 105 with the humidity this past Monday...ugh, makes me miss the mountains even more. Blessings, AutumnRain
