About Me

*****I LOVE to do international private swaps. Please PM me if you would like something from the U.S.*****

*****I am happy to swap with newbies to help get them rated. Just PM Me!*****

I live, love, work and play in Washington DC. I blog about human trafficking at http://humantrafficking.change.org and work as a researcher on human rights and HIV/AIDS-related issues. I'm also in grad school getting a Masters degree in Justice, Law, and Society. In my free time I am a sci-fi/fantasy and vintage junkie. I take improv classes and love biking. I have a wonderful boyfriend named Will (some of my wishes are for him) who I have wild and crazy adventures with and an adorable grey cat named Mia. I am a little flirty, a little dirty, and a little nerdy!

Likes and Dislikes

Overall I have a funky, international and/or vintage asthetic. My apartment is decorated with artifacts from my travels- mostly African and Asian themes- and original artwork of friends and myself. I usually wear vintage-inspired clothes with jewel tones and unusual jewelry pieces. I am a HUGE foodie and especially love salty and savory treats.

Food Sensitivities: I am lactose intolerant, but fresh dairy products usually don't mail well, so it shouldn't be a concern. Dairy cooked or baked in things (like cookies or cheese straws) is fine.

Likes:

Food and Drink: wine and wine-themed items, wine accessories, olives, spreads and dips, salty snacks, fruits and veggies, dark and milk chocolate, spicy ethnic foods, coffee, tea (but in packets cause I don't know how to brew the loose stuff), spices and flavorings, healthy or low-fat treats or foods

Values: pro-woman/girl power things, equality (LGBT and racial), freedom of speech, human rights, anything related to religion or spirituality (all religions), recycled/green things, liberal/democratic things, Obama stuff

Themes: robots, eyeglasses, steampunk, Victorian-era, cameo, Asian, African, pandas, monkeys, trees, vines, the Atlanta Braves, the Washington Nationals, baseball, bright colors, fairies, dragons, fantasy creatures, vintage 1920s-1950s, autumn, cute monsters, pin-up girls, burlesque, dark/gothic kawaii, sci-fi or actual science, geeky, humorous

Humor: naughty, raunchy, political satire, improv comedy

Dislikes:

Food and Drink: bacon (ewwwww!), beef, root beer, fast food, chain restaurants, black licorice, most powdered fruit drink mixes

Values: conservative politics, guns and bombs, violence, misogyny, racism and homophobia, Anne Coulter, judgementalism

Themes: pastel colors, lace and frills, floral designs, country style decor like roosters and watering cans, Disney characters, scrapbooking- I don't scrapbook so have little use for those supplies

Humor: cruel or racist humor

Other: country music, disco, heavy metal, SUVs, math, Star Trek, heavy floral scents

Comment: Thank you for the great Halloween goodies and the Obama items. I read part of your note to my oldest daughter and she really thinks she might be President if she uses a White House pencil to do her homework. She said, "I don't really want to be a President, but I might be one anyway", and then she ran off to do her math. ;)
