About Me

I started sewing when I was about 7 or 8. I had to do a book report for Tom Sawyer and for some unknown reason I decided to make a Tom Sawyer doll. From then until about Junior High I sewed quite a bit until I got annoyed with people asking me almost every day - Did you make that? Plus other kids weren't sewing. I started sewing again in my early 20s and haven't stopped since. Although I do still get asked - Did you make that? It took me a few years to let anyone know that I sewed.

I love everything vintage. I collect vintage tea cups and use them for my morning coffee. I am a huge fan of 50s clothing and I fantasize about owning my own chickens.

Favorite Television

Love love love Project Runway - although this season is not so great - yet I hope. I'm also a huge fan Mad Men! I love the clothes :)

Other than those the TV is on ALL DAY as background noise.

Comment: WOW! I just loved the pouch you made! It is just the right size to keep everything in order. I am a substitute teacher and tend to carry a lot of little extras (hand sanitizer, pens/pencils, lint roller, mints...) and usually they are rolling around my tote bag. Thanks! I took out the little white mouse and showed it to my youngest cat, who went nuts, snatched it from my hand, and proceeded to run around with it in her mouse, drop-kicking it from time to time. So yes! A great hit with the felines!

oh my gosh, I just looked at your site and I am in trouble. I sent your little fairie quilt and it was a disaster, but I sent it anyway hoping for your thinking that its the thought that counts. then I see that your sewpink, and realize that I am in trouble. Please understand that sewing is not my forte and I probably shouldn't have joined this swap, but wanted to give it a try. maybe you can use it as a dustrag (teehee). Please forgive my bad try and know that I am sorry it is so shoddy. I guess you can't get better if you don't try. thanks for your understanding (I hope), Jane
