I'm 35 years old and just finished my PhD in higher education. Crafts and creativity have often saved my sanity during this (very long!) process. Now that I'm done with my degree I've transformed my home office into a craft room and am happily creating away while I do the whole job search thing. I'm also working on selling some of the jewelry and eyeglass holders I make. I live with my husband and our cat in our fixer-upper outside Boston. I am a huge reader with eclectic tastes. I love to travel as well and have a long list of places to go.

I like lots of colors but pink, red, and peach are particular favorites(what I call "sunset" tones) and I love bold and fun multi-colored graphic designs. I dislike the color brown and I'm not a fan of holiday-themed items (especially Christmas items since I don't celebrate it) or stickers. I'm a tea drinker and also like cooking and baking. No food allergies but I stay away from spicy food and one of my random flavor aversions is peppermint. I have an unnatural love for Japanese art paper, office supplies and pens/colored markers and have a weakness for candle tarts. I've recently rediscovered my embossing tool so any additions to my stamp collection would be cool. I'm also working on building up a yarn stash (to help me move past the beginner stage in crochet) and a fabric stash to encourage me to use my sewing machine more often (one of my summer plans is to learn to quilt). I am an admitted beadaholic with no plans to enter rehab anytime soon. I find penguins to be unspeakably cute.

My sense of humor tends to be sarcastic, smart-ass, and often inappropriate :-)

Indigo Girls, U2, Carbon Leaf, Pink, No Doubt. I also love music from Broadway musicals, one of the worst things about moving out of NYC was that I lost easy access to a variety of broadway shows. Special favorites are Rent, Wicked, Avenue Q, Spamalot, Chicago, and Kiss Me Kate.

Many favorites, the first ones that come to mind are Kevin Smith movies, Princess Bride, Casino Royale, Borat, Ocean's 11 and 13 (we'll just pretend that 12 never happened).

Lost, Heroes, Friday Night Lights, The Wire, Sopranos, Arrested Development, Firefly, Project Runway and a few other guilty pleasure reality shows (ok, fine, I admit it, I watch Big Brother religiously every summer and have even gotten my husband addicted and he was reality-tv-phobic when we met!)

Jewelry Making, Crochet, Paper Crafts, Fabric Crafts, Mosaics. Always trying something new - I'm currently re-learning how use my sewing machine and gearing up to start quilting.
