Description:

It's time to pull out those fabric scraps, buttons, yarns, and any other embellishment you love to play with and make a mini work of art as a fabric postcard!

If you've never made a fabric postcard before, you can still join us. There's a great article at that takes you step-by-step through the entire process of creating a fabric postcard.

You don't have to sew if you are handy with fusable webbing or fabric glue, though the article suggests doing some sewing to make sure your pieces hold up through the mail.

You'll make and send one fabric postcard. Make it any size or theme you like. You may want to stick with the 4 in. by 6 in. size unless you want to pay a surcharge at the post office.

I've set a long deadline so that we have plenty of time to gather fabric and supplies. Please don't wait till the last minute to slap something together. Make something you are proud of and that you would be thrilled to receive. Thanks!

The link I posted in my description didn't show up. Maybe it'll show up here.

Is this an international swap? I'm in Australia and don't mind sending o/s...just checking in case it's US only. thanks!

This is an international swap. Postcards aren't too expensive to send anywhere.

Hee Girls,

How are you putting the stamp on the card?

AshleyShea 10/16/2006 #

First choice is self-stick postage stamps. If you don't have those, you can stick the postage stamp on a stiffer piece of paper or cardstock, and then glue that piece on to the card.

I'm mailing my postcard out in the morning. I hope my partner likes it and that the post office doesn't do much damage to it!

Hi,

I used self-stick stamps from the Netherlands and send it out from there. I hope they will fitt thill the postcard arrived.

Thank you AshleyShea for your answer

Thank you, Paula, for a beautiful postcard! You'll have to let me know why you won't use rayon quilting thread again with fusable webbing.

I love the "Flower Power" message, too. So me! I love flowers, and am more hippyish than not. ;-) Thank you so much!!

Wow, a postal speed record! I am amazed at how quickly the card got to you, Dieuwertje. I am also happy that you liked the card. It was a blast to make.
