Description:

We did a children's lit mail art swap a short while back and it was a lot of fun, so hopefully y'all are up for another one. Mail Art is one of the most fun and therapeutic forms of art, precisely because it has very few rules and "talent" can be interpreted very broadly.

Can you collage? Draw? Use crayons? Do some combination of the above or something else that is even cooler? Whatever you might imagine doing to an envelope it will be appreciated, so be brave, sign up, and have some fun!

This swap has a long send time to allow you to relax and have fun with your mail art, not because we expect you to spend a long time on your envelope and produce Mona Lisa quality mail art. The long send time is also to encourage people who may be new to this format to sign up, because if you have not done mail art before you may need a bit of time to look around the internet, and maybe your library, to get some ideas.

While mail art has few rules, it does have a few principles: you don't need "fancy" equipment to participate, some of the best stuff usually comes through found/recycled objects, and a sense of humor is helpful. And since this is the HAW, a reference or a hint of something related to Children's Literature will be needed to complete your project (but feel free to interpret that as broadly as you like).

This is designed to be a stress free swap, so you will have one partner. Create your envelope, but a small note in the envelope describing your swap, and you are done!

If you have questions feel free to send me a note and I will message you back and/or post the response below ASAP. If you have any issues with your swap or your partner please let me know that as well and I will do my best to help you resolve them. And hopefully we will not have any flakers in the HAW, but if we do I will angel if that happens.

Have Fun & Happy Swapping! Onyx
