Description:

Zentangle a 3.5 watercolor background tile. A smooth surfaced cold press watercolor paper works best for this. Not all ink pens work over watercolor but some do. If yours does not use a Prismacolor black colored pencil or black pastel pencil. As long as the color is smooth and a solid black and wont smear its a good substitute for permanent ink. lots of color is good. Ways of making an interesting watercolor back ground include: splash it on, drop one color into another, sponge it on or use wadded up paper to apply. Light watered down, thin colors work better than dark and heavy. You should still be able to easily use and see the ink on top of the watercolors.

This is a one for one 3.5 inch square zentangled tile swap.

Wonderful idea!

Did the wash on the tiles today, it is the first time in over 30 years that I've used watercolor. I want to begin to paint with my little gouache colors, I guess this is a good start, just to get used to how the colors act --- it was a bit scary. They are dried, and are now being pressed flat under a big old book. Can't wait to tangle them...

EEK! Ruined the first 2 tiles trying to string around the color...
