But try to include a variety of sizes if you can.

If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I was making die-cuts tonight in preparation for this swap because I thought it would take some time to get together a good assortment of punches... Let me just say. 600 punches is ALOT. I really want my partners to have a good selection of cuts and papers and within the 8 hours I worked on it today I only got about halfway done. My back is killing me and I completely dulled a brand new blade on my Cricut. Maybe 3 partners is too much?

I agree, 600 punches is WAY too much... I would joing and be able to send some great sizzix punched things, but now way could I make 600. # partners is too many, and 200 to each is an exorbitant amount! sorry, but i won't join this one!

3 partners (my bad)

I really appreciate everyone's feedback. I have changed the number of partners to 2, to cut down on the total number of punches. There was a paper punch swap a few months back that required 2 ounces. I felt that was a lot! I am thinking 200 should weigh less than half of that. I have been punching out 30 every night and it takes me no time at all to do that many. That is why I allowed a long span of time between the dates. I'll keep it at 200 for now but may drop it down to less, as we get closer to the swap date. I'd love to have more people's feedback on if they like this number or would like it to be less. I just wanted to make sure everyone received enough punches to make a few crafts out of. I know when I make my confetti journals I use a lot of punches just to make one.

thanks, erin! i think 400 punches in all is much more do-able! ^___^

iheartswaps 03/31/2008 #

I think that 200 to 2 partners is VERY doable, especially with the send date being late May. Also, since it's not dependent on your partner's profile we can start now! I'm REALLY looking forward to this swap--paper punches are my favorite accessory!

One thought I had was to limit how many 'basic shape' punches could be sent--if at all (squares, rectangles, circles)...I'd be sad to end up with only these, since I think anyone who likes punches has these in their collection.

Thanks for hosting this, I think it's such a fun idea! -Rachel

Are the Die cuts all to be plain shapes? Lets say I have a purchased sheet of die cuts ( not stickers ) and it has cats and dogs on it and I only used the dogs, could I send the cats ( if appropriate for partner ) or die cuts of boys when I used all the girls? I ws also thinking of paper peiced die cuts, for instance if I cut the shape of a boy can I put clothes on him or send him naked?

Thanks Kathie

paflip25 04/ 9/2008 #

No, the die-cuts do not have to be all plain shapes. In fact, it is encouraged that you send very few (if any) plain/basic shapes (squares, circles, etc.) If you want to send just the cats and just the boys, that is fine, as long as you don't send more than 10 of each. You can send the boys naked or dress him if you like. It's totally up to you. :)

I am too ^ Really excited now!

ciaobella 04/19/2008 #

Should we embelish any of the die cuts? Approximately how big should they be? I do not like small diecuts.

Diane

paflip25 04/19/2008 #

No, you don't have to embellish the die cuts, but you can if you want to. They can range from small to large in size. You can request from your partners that they don't send any small ones, but it is not a requirement that they have to follow. I, personally, use as many small ones as I do large ones, and I'm sure there are others who likes the small ones, as well.

I was also going to mention to everyone that there is this great book called "Punch Your Art Out" (ISBN# 1892127008) that shows really great ideas on how you can put different punches together to make things. For example: you can put 3 hearts together with a circle in the center to make a flower and 4 ovals together to make a tulip. So even if you don't like small punches you can use them to make bigger ones. Here is a link to the book on Amazon where you can see some examples: http://www.amazon.com/Punch-Your-Art-Kerry-Arquette/dp/1892127008/ref=sr111?ie=UTF8&qid=1208701493&sr=11-1

Hi, ready to send I need an address. Diane

paflip25 04/20/2008 #

People have until midnight on April 27th (another whole week) to sign-up. So partners will not be assigned until the next morning (after the enrollment periods ends.) But I'm glad you are ready to send already! :) Thanks, Erin

I can't wait - I have lots of die cuts and will start on them

ninamath 04/27/2008 #

I bought some new Sizzix dies and can't wait to start! Just want to see my partner's profile first. ;-) No promises, though.
