We all have a lot of "things in our life" and I know at the end of the day I usually have a pocketful of stuff or random stuff on a table, shelf, cabinet, etc. So why not take some of that stuff (NO TRASH) and send it to our partner.

Send your partner an envelope of stuff from your day, your desk, that sort of thing. Give them a glimpse of your life through stuff... Send a little note about yourself and why you are sending few of the items you are sending. Let them peek into your life...

  1. Get a 6 x 9 envelope (Usually Brown or White) to mail your "stuff" and your note

  2. What you include is senders choice, but please DO NOT send trash. (Trash meaning: Used tissues, gum wrappers with used gum, etc)

  3. Please use your best judgement when sending your items. I figure we are all adults here and know the difference between good stuff to send and just plain trash.

  4. Send 10 items or more. (Remember a lot of this will be flat items, so it shouldn't be too expensive to ship.)

Some examples of what you could send are:

  • Junk postcard advertisements you get in the mail
  • A receipt for an item you purchased that you really like
  • A notecard you got in the mail that you are just going to toss
  • Bits and pieces of stuff from a craft project you are working on

All items must be of good nature. No torn items. No dirty items.

I can't control who smokes and who doesn't. So if you get an item that smells of cigarette smoke, there's nothing I can do about it.

Please don't flake on this. This is a simple swap that isn't expensive to put together or to ship. This is great for those just starting out or those who are on a small budget.

I will go through the list before assigning partners and remove people at my own discretion

MANILA paper you meant? :)

marge 01/ 8/2013 #

Nice swap idea :)

thisisme 01/ 8/2013 #

@marge - No. I meant the 6 x 9 envelopes that are brown or the same color as manilla folders.

Hi, can newbies join this swap? I haven't been rated yet, but my profile is filled out.

tumbochka 01/17/2013 #

6x9 is around A5? And is it allowed to send in a handmade envelope?

thisisme 01/17/2013 #

@tumbochka - I have no idea what an A5 is... As long as the envelope is a 6 x 9. Handmade is fine.

Do we have to send them in a 6x9 envelope because I couldn't find one of them and I don't think that my sendings will fit in it ?

thisisme 01/20/2013 #

@AhriTheFox - It can be bigger than that if need be. But no smaller.

I am very intrigued by this swap- but one question (may be obvious but I would prefer clarification) The purpose of this swap is to give a window in to our lives and tell our partner something as opposed to sending them ephemera they can actually use right? thanks

thisisme 01/22/2013 #

@TurtleLove - Yes. Its more about showing them who you are. There are too many swaps where you can just send ephemera.

TurtleLove 01/22/2013 #

thank you

I've just remembered, partner pm me, I may have moved since the last time I used this site...

Ionagail87 01/25/2013 #

Ok, if sent already, its ok, it'll go to my rents, but the address has been changed to my current one now :)
