Ribbons Chocolates and Coffee Oh My

Hi, I'm interested in your swap, but I have no idea what "coordinating ribbons" nor do I know what "Bucilla" is!

I do love yearn but I'm not sure if this is a type of yarn? or a ribbon I would buy at a fabric shop?

Bucilla is a brand of ribbon - a narrow silk ribbon for embroidery, I think, like what's in the photo above. I would like to know what type of ribbon is acceptable. (Also, why is this listed under yarn swap?) This sounds like a fun swap - would like to know more!

Bucilla is a brand name of ribbon that you can purchase.To make it more fun and interesting i would prefer that everyone send hand dyed or others.Bucilla is easy to get and doesent come in as many colors.Co ordinating colors i mean that the 5 different ribbons should be in the same color family.Such as purples with a wine red would go togather.Blues and greens would go togather.Ribbon can be used in many ways even on heavy paper.If you type in "ribbon embroidery" you will see many sites featured. I must have hit the yarn button by mistake.There are some sites of above that have great ribbons.Any brand is acceptable excluding Bucilla. I think it would be more fun for everyone to get to try perhaps a different brand.

All questions are welcomed.Ribbons for embroidery often come in already cut lengths.Your welcome to select the length you want but try for at least a yard each.The coffee here in the US can be purchased already bagged.So two bags already in the bean form or that comes already grinded would be fine as well.I guess i need to make my swap clearer this is my first one to host. psst, newbie here.. this is the first one to catch my eye! maybe it was the coffee, or perhaps the chocolate.. yum.. & this ribbon thing sounds interesting! all i know is now i feel like making some java & putting in a square of my fave chocolate!

ok, as far as the coffee goes.. bagged: do you have a specific amount? weight-wise, i'm speaking of :)

Like i said just use your best judgment.If its already bagged you wont have much choice in the weight.Since you would be sending two i would say that togather they should weigh no more then a pound.

Oh! I love ribbons! But I've not done ribbon embroidery. I love vintage and brocaded ribbon, velvet ribbon, etc. Are these acceptable? Tea or coffee, chocolate and ribbons...sounds like a perfect swap. I hope I figure it all out as far as acceptable ribbons for the swap, and I hope I can take part in the swap, being that I'm brand new to swap bot! :-) Thanks so much!

Welcome to your first swap if you decide to join.Ribbon embroidery is lots of fun,but you dont need to embroider to use the ribbons.Ribbons can be used to embellish altered books,atc's and can even be sewn into paper.Any type of ribbon can be sent as long as it isnt to wide.They normally come in 2,4,7 and 13 mm widths.

If you perfer tea to coffee and wide ribbons then let the person who is to send to you know your prefrences.On another note ask the person your to send to their prefrences as well.I do want the swap to be flexible as long as it stays within the theme.
