Hello everyone! I have Received MANY books to start a book club on this site, and trust me, i am VERY excited myself. I've alway's wanted to be in a book club, and now i am! :] sience ive never been in real one, i am doing it diffrent for everyone, sience everyone that sent me books, there were alot of diffrent ones. i am very lucky to have other book reader's in my life! Every book club there will be 5 books up, and you will need to pick one out of them. feel free to try them all out, trust me i love finding other books i never tryed out. Also, if there is a book up, and it does have a trilogy to it, you can read the next book you were going to.

BOOKS ON LIST: 1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins 2. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead [i will be reading this one] 3. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak 4. Dracula by Bram Stoker 5. traitors of the Tower by Alison Weir

Everyone will write one page [front and back] and i also have a few questions to help everyone with it :]

What was the book about? what was your favorite part in it? who is your favorite charecter? why? did you like the book? did you put it down? Has this novel changed you—broadened your perspective? Have you learned something new or been exposed to different ideas about people or a certain part of the world? If you could ask the author a question, what would you ask? Have you read other books by the same author? If so how does this book compare. If not, does this book inspire you to read others?

Once everyone send's out there swap, i will start the next one! I will be keeping a binder to put the partners i have for my swap inside, please put ''swapbot book club #1] on the very top of the page, and the date!

Newbies or allowed with no recent 1's or 3's. if there is anything you would like to ask, ask away :]

Happy reading!

The idea is actually pretty interesting, but... If I were you, I'd change the system of picking books available for the swap from "everyone will find something for them" to, I don't know, "high literature this time, and young adult fiction next time"? I mean, work out some quality level for each of the swaps planned. Because sorry, but I cannot imagine writing a letter about my feelings towards Dracula (one of the most amazing titles I've EVER had in my hand) and receiving one about how awesome and cool Katniss was. It sounds a bit unfair for both readers with higher expectations and those who enjoy simplier books.

No offence though. I'm not here to criticize, it's just my humble opinion.

@RigelSan ~ What you said made sense, but I like it how she has it. I don't know that it's meant to be some big deep thing, but just finding something new to read and enjoy and share that enjoyment with another. For me, I wouldn't join a swap for high lit or non fic or something like that. With a variety, I think everyone can find something they like and I personally think it's more enjoyable that way.

michellescrochet 05/ 6/2013 #

@imzadirose that is my point exacly. What if there was a book that you didnt read on your list and the partner you receive has read it? Then from there perspective, you can now see if you would like to read it or not. Of corse, other people like Rigelsan will have there opinion about it, so like ive always said, join it or not, it is up to you :)

Also, do we have to answer all the questions, or are they just suggestions? Thanks!

Suggestions

user2637 05/ 7/2013 #

Great thanks!

I just looked up the 3 books I have not already read. One's just not for me; the 2nd is 550 pages long!! and also about war, so not for me. The 3rd is historical too :( but at least it's only 96 pages, so, if I join I'll probably read that one. But even if I don't join this one, I'll keep an eye out for the next. Love the idea of an online book club!

Can you tell me more about how you chose these books? Did you, for example, input all of our 20-to-read lists into Excel and sort to find which occurred most often? I'm just curious.

I went threw every book that the person sent and picked, I liked doing that. Lol. The book thief is awsome, u should read it. I loved it. Lol. I put a long date so once the person finds which book the would like to read they can start :)

ImzadiRose 05/ 7/2013 #

It definitely is good how you are doing it @michellescrochet I wouldn't want to join something that was all prim and proper. I read books to enjoy, not to get philosophical over. No disrespect to @RigelSan but I just like to hear about any book being read, no matter if it's something I would never read that is a boring book to me, or even if people tell me what they thought of Twilight/50 Shades which are my most hated books ever. It's just all in good fun to see what others are enjoying. I'd hate to be judged just because I prefer light books to something heavy. I hope I'll be able to join all the ones you have, it will push me towards something I may have been interested in (The Book Thief in this case) and have me read it when I had been continuing to put it off.

It's super convenient that Dracula is sitting on my shelf right now, begging me to read it!

user2637 05/ 7/2013 #

@michellescrochet I don't really like war books so I'm not going to read The Book Thief. I do hope you'll get some sci-fi on the lists in the future. :)

user2637 05/ 8/2013 #

I just noticed this is flat mail not email. Sorry for all the questions, but I'd like to know if the letter can be typed and how long a typed letter of a 2-sided handwritten letter would be. I have terrible handwriting and holding pen(cil)s often exacerbates my tendinitis. Thanks.

michellescrochet 05/ 9/2013 #

Just type up two papers hun, if it comes out 3 papers, then thats fine also :)

Apelser 05/11/2013 #

I cannot believe it - I cannot find any of these books to buy at book shops. They are willing to order it for me, but that will take 3-4 weeks. But thank heavens for internet and being able to download books. I got Vampire Academy from Richelle Mead and will be reading that one.
