Description:

I am going ahead and starting the next Kawaii Whimsy Jar swap since the last swap host hasn't logged in since February and I have not received any pm's from her.

You will have one partner for this swap. This one is for the U.S. only, feel free to start an international one.

For this swap you will fill a medium size mason jar, jelly jar or a similar sized jar (plastic, like a mayo jar but please make sure if you use a jar that contained food to wash and sanitize it) usually these are around 6"-8" in height but can be larger if you wish.

Fill your jar to the brim with kawaii goodness. Here are a few ideas to fill up your jars, but they are certainly not limited to:

Sticker flakes/sacks/sheets

Mini Memo pads

Letter Sets

Ribbons

Buttons

Deco tape

Mini Plushies

Key chains & cell phone charms

Handmade goodies

Scrapbooking punches

Erasers

Candies

Rubber Stamps

Little bento goodies

Figurines

Necklaces/bracelets/earrings

After you have filled your jar, decorate it and make sure it is nicely presented. You can decorate the lid, the sides of the jar with stickers, ribbon or whatever you can come up with.

You should spend no less then $15, but feel free to spoil your partner if you wish!

Make sure that you know what kawaii means before joining. Your jar contents can really be anything Kawaii related, so please do not send diddl, Disney, or similar items (unless of course, your partner likes those things) If you wish to use a few "kawaii" items that are not typical as fillers in the jar that is fine, just make sure that these things do not make up the majority of the jar contents. This includes items like strawberries, cupcakes, icecream... Also, please do not fill your jar with mostly loose memo sheets, make sure you have a good combination of goodies.

Items should be new. Packaging can be bulky, so items that are taken new out of a package are fine to stick in the jar!

Be creative and have fun!!

If you've never done a whimsy jar before, you can do a flickr search or look at my completed jar from the last swap in my flickr profile to get some ideas.

This is NOT a newbie swap. You must have a rating of 5.00 to join and no no-sends in recent months. You must have also completed at least 10 "real" snail mail swaps in order to participate. I will be checking profiles and will ban if you do not meet the requirements. Please send me a message if you have any questions about joining.

I have made the send out date a little over a month so you should have plenty of time once partners are assigned if you need to order goodies online.

i have a 5 inch olive jar would that be ok?

kawaiibuttons 04/27/2008 #

I think 5" tall is a little on the small size. Think like a mayo jar, larger jelly jar or even a spaghetti sauce jar- as long as they are clean :) I've even seen the mason/canning jars at thrift stores for under $0.50 each

I'll join! I was flaked on in the other one, so hopefully it won't happen this time!

A six inch plastic jar is okay right?

6" plastic jar is great!
