Requirements:

A super cute + easy recycled DIY! 1 partner, and 2 handmade DIY books sent and received!

  • You are to make two (2) handmade notebooks for your partner following this tutorial for DIY notebooks.

  • Please keep these notebooks visually appealing using bright, pastel and cheerful colours and images.

  • Make sure that each notebook is no smaller than 3 x 5 inches when folded in half from a magazine page.

  • Use at four (4) pages inside the notebook, so when folded, it is eight (8) sheets total inside.

  • One notebook will be titled DIY and the other notebook INSPIRATION. Edited to add >> Alphabet letters are optional - stamps, beautiful handwriting (i.e. professional calligraphy) or stencils can be used instead.

  • NOTE: Since this is a public swap, please no images with nudity, excessive profanity, etc. This is to ensure all participants are comfortable with the swap they will receive.

Additional Info:

• If you have any trouble with anything, let your partner know - and myself - immediately so we can figure out the problem before the send date.

• Partners should receive a 5 rating if two (2) DIY books (from the requirements above) were sent on time!

• This is not an extras based swap. Extras are not mandatory and should not affect the rating of your swap. Please put in the effort instead to the creation, presentation, and packaging of your swap to make it special.

• Sorry, no newbies, or ratings lower than 4.9! Must have completed at least 10 Type 3 mailed and well-rated swaps to join, and no recently unexplained 1's or 3's! I will check profiles. Flakers will be banned from all of my future swaps!

I was hoping to join this swap in the group but I haven't been approved for the group yet. Glad to see in posted publicly! I'll be joining closer to the date :)

Innntersting...do we have to sew the middle??

SabrinaDeeBerry 07/ 3/2013 #

@KristinCali - the group swap didn't get enough response, so I made it public. Glad you could join!

@andreatally - yes, sew the middle!

I've already made about 10 of these. I have so many pretty agazine pages saved and I'm glad to use them!

Awesome idea--I love anything that involves recycling!

trula 07/ 6/2013 #

Do we have to stick to stickers or stamps for the words? I can think of so many other cool options (letters cut out from magazines, beautiful handwriting, painted stencils,etc.). Can we think outside the box with this, or are we forced to incorporate store bought products? Thanks!

SabrinaDeeBerry 07/ 7/2013 #

@trula - I was trying to keep it similar to the tutorial itself so it would be a simpler craft swap. However, I think beautiful handwriting (i.e. professional calligraphy) or using stencils is also fine.

SabrinaDeeBerry 07/ 7/2013 #

@KristinCali - wow that's great!

@Bryanne - thank you, me too!

bluecrayons 07/11/2013 #

sucks that it HAS to be sewn.

KristinCali 07/12/2013 #

@bluecrayons that's kind of rude. She can host a swap however she wants. I think sewing gives them a more handmade look and feel, rather than taking 3 seconds to staple. I made a bunch, they aren't that hard, just try it!

SabrinaDeeBerry 07/13/2013 #

@bluecrayons - as I mentioned before this is following a craft tutorial so everyone can participate with a set standard to follow, and experience different types of swaps.
