Description:

I have to give props to zombiejessie for inspiring this swap, since she sent me a totally awesome space themed envie with space stamps for a different swap we had on the group a few weeks ago.

For this swap, you will create an envie with a space travel/exploration theme - to include NASA research and space missions, futuristic designs etc. No sci-fi for this one as I would really like to make this about our planetary system and the actual people involved in it. If you've ever been to Kennedy Space Center, you can't help but be fascinated - this swap is ALL about that kind of thing.

Envies should be at least 5x7 inches. You must decorate the entire front of the envie and there should be at least some decoration on the back. Hand-made envies are welcome but should be well-contructed from quality cardstock or multiple layers of paper. You can use collage techniques, as well as drawing/painting, stamped images, original or reproduction images from space missions, Hubble telescope etc. Use your imagination and make this a stellar swap for your partner!!

The catch: you must use space-related stamps for this swap. I'm giving a lot of time for sign-up and to complete this swap so that anyone who is interested in the theme has more than enough time to find the appropriate materials if they don't already have them. You can find unused/uncancelled postage easily on Ebay and Etsy.

I'm making this a flat/regional swap so that you won't need to use too many stamps to mail this since I'm trying to keep it to the equivalent of a current first class stamp.

You can also post below if you have materials that fit this swap and are willing to share with others to allow more people to participate.

Inside the envie, write a note to your partner about what you think about space missions or space travel - or something that you personally relate or connect to the notion of "space". Include a small flat surprise that relates to the theme, for example it can be something like a sheet of silver stars, bookmark or postcard/magazine images that relate to space.

As always, swap/group rules apply - if you're new here, please take a moment to check them out on the forum. Feel free to PM me with any questions!

Cool swap idea! When you say "you must use space-related stamps," you don't mean that all the stamps have to be space-related, do you? I mean, is it enough if we use one or two space-related stamps?

If anybody needs space stamps I have enough extra space themed stamps for six if I divide them up for a standard 46 cent stamp. If anyone is interested let me know and we can trade stamps. The .46 is made up of two .18 and one .10 stamp all with NASA type images.

Sorry forgot to mention it is US postage.

Hehehe, thank you zombiejessie, I am so glad you volunteered!

And yes, FiWebster - therein lies the challenge! That's actually why I made this swap US only and why I made sure that everyone can fulfill the swap requirements for the price of a current first-class stamp. As you can see from zombiejessie's offer and explanation, you really only need 3 stamps :)
