When you say pins, do you mean pin-back buttons like the kind you can get out of a button-o-matic machine ( http://www.busybeaver.net/button-o-matic )? Is there a size or shape requirement?

Nope as long as it's a pin that you could pin to a shirt ect it'll work. Pin backs are fine.
