As part of this months theme on SWL "out of the comfort zone -- try something new" welcomes this swap =)

Inspired from an image I found on pinterest (the swap picture) here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/22447698114469123/

We'll have one partner.

From the 101 bits of autumn fun, we will;

  • Try / do a minimum of (1) which must be something we haven't done ever, or done for a while. Just something we don't do all the time, something that will be new to us.

Can't choose? Close your eyes, point at the list, whatever your finger lands on; that's what you have to do. Do this until you get one you like. Still can't choose? Message me with a list of possible ones for you. I'll message you back assigning you a few of them.

  • If possible, take a picture of this activity, or provide any ephemera (leaflet, brochure, even a leaf it is from a walk in the park, label, recipe of a soup, souvenoir) of or relating (notecard, stickers, gift what you did. It can be handmade, if you can't grab anything. Or it can be as simple as a postcard.

  • Write your partner a letter about what you did, what you learnt and gained from it. Will you be doing it again? Why did you choose this? Have you been there before? Done it before? Did it bring back any memories for you? What did you learn from this? Share any positives, & negatives.

  • Include your letter + 1 piece item/ephemera, seal the envelope with lots of love, & send off to your partner.

^^ That is all the swap requires. Don't burn yourself out, by worrying about the swap. What matters the most is trying something out and stepping outside of your comfort zone.

You can choose now, and start whenever you wish. Tomorrow, or next month. You are in the swap even if you have not been assigned a partner. You don't have to wait for partners to be assigned. You can join now, or watch the swap for a while. You have a long time to do this swap; because it requires more than usual. It requires you to gain something way from the swap. Get off of the computer, and go and do something.

If you like more of a challenge, you don't have to stop there. Try more things from the list. Write a letter to your partner of things you have already done. Make a diary, smash book, list of things you did from this list. Turn ideas from the list into creativity; make things, find paper ephemera, make small gifts, make your envelope Autumn Fun theme... the list is seriously endless... but remember, this swap is more about YOU than the swap itself.

Whatever you choose do, I hope you discover something new.

Happy Swapping!

Creative ideas for a few from the list;

  • "Send a care package" - send a RAK, or care package to a swapbot friend, real life friend or family.

  • "Collect family recipes & make them into a small book for gifts" - this could be sent to your partner.

  • "Make a thankful for list" - you could send this list to your partner.

  • "Go to the park" - write your partner a letter about your visit to a park you haven't been to for a while. Pick leaves, dry them out, send them to your partner in a clear ziploc bag or make crafts with them. Or take pictures, print them, send them to your partner.

  • "Take a day trip" - write your partner a letter about your trip, buy a postcard for your partner, buy a souvenior, pick up local ephemera

  • "Make a pot of soup" - include a recipe for your partner.

  • "Popcorn + movie night" - make this into a package for your partner. Or write your partner a small letter about who you did this, what you ate and what movie you watched. Watch a movie you've never seen before.

  • "Get a headstart in holiday baking" - Send recipes, or the cookies themselves!

  • "Buy fall scented candles for your home" - Write a list of candles you got, send to your partner. What scents are they? What do they make you think of?

  • "Make a scarf" - For your partner you don't yet know?

  • "Read a book" - Perhaps find a book your partner likes once partners are assigned that you've never read before and read it before swap deadline. Write your partner a little letter about what you thought of the book.

  • "Puzzles" - do a jigsaw with a loved one. Write about your experience.
