Description:

We have had Polka dot swaps, but I couldn't find any gingham swaps, and I love gingham almost as much as Polkadot. So, this is the first of four Gingham swaps that I am hosting. You will have one partner and will make an item, either hand sewing, or machine sewing, in gingham patterned material or fabric that you'd think they'd like. Check their profile. It could be that they are into dotee dolls, so make a gingham dotee doll. Or it could be that they love quilting, so you could make a quilt block. There are endless possibilities, toy plushies, kitchen ware, aprons, decorative items, or something like the gorgeous lavender mouse in picture above(copyright Samantha Chilton see

So long as it is either sewn, or uses some kind of fabric, and is at least 60% gingham it will match the criteria. Wool, and felt can be used too, so if you think you can knit or crochet gingham...lol. You don't have to spend alot of money, but do make something with care...something that you would be happy to receive.

This swap will be INTERNATIONAL and will take a while to finalise because it is the holiday season and I want folk to have plenty of time to think about and make something special.

RATING: The swap is to make one very nice gingham item for your partner. That will be marked as a five. If you feel it is really special or there are extras, this may qualify for a heart. Remember it is the effort, love and care that has gone into making something that is important.

Newbies are welcome, but with a full profile. If your profile does not tell enough about your likes and dislikes, I may come back to you and ask you to put more information on it, for a potential partner to work with.

I am willing to allow anyone with 4.5 or over into the swap. HOWEVER...I will be scrutinising all profiles and if I suspect that someone will renege on a swap I will ban them. If you have dubious ratings, or a parcel has been lost in the post, email me explaining, and I will consider the options. I am not an ogre, and these things happen, but I will not take any nonsense. FLAKERS...BE WARNED. ANYONE WHO FLAKES WITHOUT GOOD PROVEN REASON (as far as can be proven)WILL BE NAMED AND SHAMED.This will not happen until all efforts have been made to help everyone swap, but if these efforts are resisted, banning from my future swaps will take place and names published in flakers threads in the forum.
Any questions, please email me or ask below. I will be hosting three other gingham related swaps...one for paper craft, one for artists, and one for digital artists so keep an eye open for them too. Have fun, Susie.

I collect handmade pincushions and needlebooks so I'd be THRILLED to receive one of those. Favorite colors are in my profile :)

I hope you join. By the way, what is a needlebook? Is it a needle roll...for storage of needles?

I too love pincushions because I am always sewing something. I have the bad habit of using the arm of my overstuffed chair for a pin cushion when I don't keep one handy. I already have something in mind to send but will wait to read my partners profile to see if it's a good fit.

I would love a stuffy of any kind... :-)

Gees,...........what is a stuffy? Is it a stuffed animal?
