Description:

This is intended to be a small swap that I hope many group members can participate in. May's theme is BIRDS . The theme is up to your creative interpretation. This will allow us each to craft in our medium of choice. Won't you join us?

The official rules:

  • Send your partner one or more handmade-by-you items that reflect the theme BIRDS.

  • Spend a minimum of one hour creating a nice bird-themed swap for your partner. Our goal should be to make our partner smile when they open our package!

  • Include a note of a few sentences to personalize your swap and, if it's not obvious, to tell your partner how your item relates to the theme.

  • You may begin work on this swap prior to partner assignment, but I'm allowing 2 additional weeks between sign up/send deadlines to give ample time to decide on the details and create your swap!

  • Sending on time, on or before the send date, is considered part of the swap. In the rare event that you will be a little late, please contact your partner and the swap host before the deadline has passed.

Γ’β„’Β₯ HAPPY SWAPPING! Γ’β„’Β₯

If you have ideas for future, general "themes", please post them in the comments below. Thanks!

would a handmade postcard featuring my handcarved stamp fulfil the criteria? Or is this more an 'items in an envelope' swap?

I would suggest that one postcard, written and mailed, wouldn't quite be enough for this swap. My idea was to give your partner something that they could use. Ways you could vary your idea to meet requirements would be to mail a hand-carved stamp for your partner or to send a set of handmade postcards that your partner could then use. Some ideas for things I've made for this swap series are hand-embroidered towels and fabric garland featuring the theme, though both took substantially longer than the 1-hour crafting requirement and are in my wheelhouse of "fabric and thread" crafts. Does that info help?

thanks for the reply I think I understand now. I've joined up :)
