This description assumes that no females could be in military service. It also greatly limits the number of swap participants if the swap participant must have been in the military.

Also, aren't those items that you want to have people swap pretty meaningful for the person who has them? It might be better to have people swap items that one might find in an army surplus store instead, or ephemera from the military.
