Description:

A Vintage Ladies Journal

This swap is for one handmade junk journal in a vintage ladies theme.

Please read through the entire description of this swap and ask questions before I assign partners to make sure you understand what I expect for these journals.

For this book I am using the term junk journal to mean a book which contains:

Pages for your partner to journal on

Pages with pockets and tuck spots

Tags and bits and pieces of ephemera

Pages decorated in the theme (vintage ladies)

SIZE: at least 5x7 but may be larger.

BINDING for your book may be:

Punched holes with book rings or ribbon

Signatures bound with twine (twine binding) or sewn in

COVER for your book may be:

Old book with center torn out leaving the front/back covers and the spine

Chip board or covers from old books can be covered and decorated with papers, fabrics or paints...

And must be decorated to represent the theme (vintage Ladies journal)

PAGES If using:

Punched holes book rings or ribbon = 25 pages (50 sides)

Sewn in or twine binding signatures = 15 pages (60 sides)

In order to make your book appear vintage you may want to coffee or tea dye your papers. Please include pockets and tuck spots. Old photos, postcards, tickets, ads for soap or perfume! Corsets and shoes are always a plus! Reproductions are a good way to include these things – there are many vintage collage sheets available to print from the internet. Old books and magazines can also be good sources for papers. Remember to leave plenty of space for your partner to make entries.

Embellishments can include ribbon, lace, buttons, sewing scraps and so on… be creative and have fun, use glue and tape, washi and staples. Adorn with doilies, lace, trim and scraps from old sewing or tatting.. Don’t forget the pearls and rhinestones.

If you go to pinterest and put Junk Journal Vintage in that search you will see hundreds of examples for inspiration. Some have u-tube videos.

If after reading this and visiting the web examples you still feel you don’t understand what this swap is for message me and I’ll try to clarify.

I most often expect ratings of at least 4.9+ to join my swaps and do not accept any swappers with recent 1's or 3's unless I can see that the low rating was undeserved.

In this swap I will also be setting a limit of no less than 35 type 3 rated swaps.

I will be vetting this swap very carefully. I love making these books but hope to only have to make and ship the one I make for my partner. If I do end up with flaker/s I will make it right, but I will also make sure said flaker/s are outed in every way possible.

This is a labor intensive swap so I’m giving plenty of time before partners are assigned so you can get started if you want. I’m giving another month after partners are assigned. Please plan accordingly so you can have fun with this swap!

I don't have the required 35 3 Types swaps. If you host this again, I would love for you to keep me in mind and send me a PM. I should have 35 before too long.

Thank you.

This swap looks lovely!
