PLEASE READ ENTIRE SWAP DESCRIPTION

This is a USA swap only. Feel free to host your own international one. What is a Pass and Paste Postcard? Use any stiff paper or cardboard (cereal boxes work great!)- 4x6 - anything over that takes a forever stamp. The "front" of the postcard is divided into 4 sections. Each section is numbered 1 through 4. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOURS LARGER! Please also note that the post office will not deliver anything smaller than 3 1/2” x 5”!

The "back" of the postcard is divided in half, just like a regular postcard. Put your address in the address section so your card will return to you once it's been filled up. Divide the "writing" side into 4 spaces, numbered 1 through 4. Please STAMP it!

NEW TO THE SWAP--If you are just jumping in now: For this swap, you are going to use the above instructions and make a Pass and Paste Postcard. If you are making for yourself, then you don't have to decorate a spot. If it is for someone else, then you'll decorate and sign #1 spot.

CONTINUING SWAPPER--If you have participated in previous swaps: send on the postcard you received previously. IF YOUR PARTNER HAS ALREADY SIGNED THE CARD OR IT IS ONE THAT WAS MADE FOR THEM, THEN CREATE A NEW CARD. (or you can contact me to see if I have any extras). Do NOT send the card to its owner until it's full!

When partners are posted, you will mail the postcard to your partner in an envelope. This partner will decorate the next section and SEND IT ON in the next round. This swap is held twice each month. Anyone can join at any time.

You can decorate using any medium--Zentangle, collage, painting, drawing - but please make sure that it is attached well. Also, you need to make sure that nothing is fragile, as the last person decorating will be sending this naked, and it will have to go through the postal machines. If you glue a button on, it will probably not survive.

Please note that the medium and subject is SENDER’S CHOICE! I’ve been seeing a few cards that specify they be painted or follow a particular theme. If you’d like to start a Paint and Pass, or create a theme, feel free to start your own swap. I have surveyed participants, and those who responded agreed that not everyone is comfortable with being told to paint or draw. If you get a card that specifies a medium or theme, you are free to follow it if you choose, but please do not rate someone down if they choose not to follow that demand as that is not a requirement of this swap.

Having said that, I’ll also point out that the most interesting and effective cards I’ve seen are ones which each artist thought about what had been done on the card before. Just a suggestion…. Not a swap requirement, but do try to make the card the best it can be!

Finally, if you decide not to continue on PLEASE contact me and I will be happy to take the postcard you have.

If you know of a bad swapper signed up for this swap, I appreciate being informed, but please DO NOT post to the comment section! Send me a PM and I will deal with it that way.
