Hello! Could you expand on this swap explaining the purpose of it? I guess I am wondering why someone would wnat my ticket stubs or take-out menus. Thank you.

Zmrzlina 02/26/2007 #

Ticket stubs and take-out menus make for great collage material, especially for altered books and ATCs. I usually participate in the ephemera swaps, but I'm cutting back 'cause I've got so much now that needs to be sorted. It has been great swapping out my stuff for stuff from other places, especially when other places happen to be outside the US.

Mel 02/26/2007 #

I agree! I LOVE getting ephemera - I'll even pay for it on Ebay!

I also save everything, and sometimes I causes me stress. Yet I can't part with it - except if I know it's going to a good home.

So I'm signin' up! :)

Thank you zmrzlina & mel for explaining some of the purposes. I sometimes use these kind of items for atc and I'd like to start an altered book but not sure how.

Hope you will join FunToScrap

Oh, how fun! I've just found some business cards with really fun graphics! The search is on for more goodies. I can't wait. =D

FarStarr 02/28/2007 #

Y'know...I was trying to do fewer swaps, but one swap I did want to do was for take-out menus. So, just one more swap for collage fodder won't kill me ...right???. hee hee

Chronic pack-rat here, I have shoeboxes I fill with things like ticket stubbs etc since I was about 14... I still pick up extra take-out menus/business cards/flyers etc when I am out... I don't do a lot of atc's ... guess I am just a chronic collector, but I will find the coolest stuff I can for my partner

This is definitely the swap for me, my husband would prefer I send to everyone and no one send to me!!!! I save everything, you just never know when you might need it for a craft, OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS!!! I always have good intensions for putting things in scrapbooks and the like, but fail to have the time now, maybe when my children are all grown....

Mel 03/ 9/2007 #

Oh man, I didn't realize how bad I had gotten until I started gathering items for this swap. I've found so much more than what I thought I had - and it's all yours, whoever my partner is! :) My husband is so happy that I've cleaned out our "junk" drawer! :)

Aylanah 03/ 9/2007 #

What a great idea for a swap! I have all sorts of items that would be fun to send. I love making handmade cards, so this is exciting! :)

Cool - this is my kind of swap. I just sorted the craft corner of my house and have a full drawer of neat thingamajigs I'd love to share because - well - I CAN'T throw them out.

I didn't read anything about having a rating requirement. I just mailed out my first swap and doubt it has been received yet so I don't have any ratings. Is this swap open to newbies? I HOPE SO! =)

jm culver, received your box of pack rat stuff. How fun! It was like getting to go through someone else's junk drawer and take what you want. This was a fun swap and I really appriciate the variety of items. The ideas are already stating to jump into my head. Thank you.

BleakOptimism 03/21/2007 #

J.Stevens, I sent your package off today, hope it arrives ok. Hope you like what's inside. Ahh sending stuff out is always so nervewracking

BleakOptimism 03/23/2007 #

Mel I got your package yesterday! Thanks so much, I loved it, been keeping me amused for some time, and I am in love with the chiropracty sticker that was in there, not sure why, but every time I look at it I start giggling :)

FarStarr 03/24/2007 #

Pack rat stuff went out to Aerochik today..Enjoy!

Mel 03/24/2007 #

BleakOptimism,

Fantastic!!! I'm glad you liked all of the 'weird' stuff I sent!

I really don't know where the chiropracty sticker came from - it must be from someone I work with - there's one that's stuck on an office door, so I get to see it every day! I found mine in the junk drawer. I'm glad it went to a good home! :)

Have fun! Mel
