Description:

For this swap we will be swapping quilting blocks!

ROUND 1 and 2 and 3 WENT REALLY WELL!! YOU CAN JOIN THIS SWAP AT ANY ROUND.

1 block to each partner - for a maximum number of partners of 6. It could be less if not many people sign up.

The finished quilt size is 50" X 63 1/2" - of course you can always make it bigger by creating more blocks on your own if you want. The tutorial is free and can be found at: https://quiltingtutorials.com/tutorial/the-adorable-i-spy-jar-quilt

It is a tutorial by Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Company. It is a 12 minute video - very cute but easy quilt! It looks like it would be scrap friendly which is why I am choosing it for this swap!

If you get your block and it meets requirements please rate a 5. Hearts, as always, are at your discretion. Please no quilt police - we all try to do our best and I really want these swaps to be inviting and not stressful. However, with that in mind I do understand that measurements are super important with quilting...so if it is way off please give the swapper the chance to re-do the square for the full 5. If it is just a tad off (like 1/8") I am sure we can maneuver it into the quilt just fine.

Color Rules: Solid white background, solid gray jar lids. No rules as to the prints for the jars except they have to be prints (no solids for jars) - this is meant to be scrappy. Generally, smaller scale prints work best. You need to be able to see what you spy!

I will email all NEW swappers with the written instructions if you prefer them over the video. In the written instructions you will go through step 4 - PINT jars. Do not add the sashing. This will be done by you when you are putting your final quilt together. (If you were in part 1 I will not re-send the instructions automatically, but please let me know if you need them again).

YOUR BLOCK that you mail SHOULD BE 5" X 6" (which will finish in the final quilt at 4 1/2" x 5 1/2")

Let's have fun with this! Please ask any questions below and I will answer them as quick as possible. Private message me for faster responses. Rating of 4.98 or higher required. Any recent 1s or 3s please message me first. Newbies message me first (after you have filled out your profile). USA only.

FUTURE SWAPS: I will keep hosting these swaps at least every month until we have 42 squares! and then who knows...I might keep going for another quilt!

Question on jar lid, I have a solid gray which is sparkly would that be okay?

tonat80 08/21/2018 #

@KRPW1181 I would say no. We wouldn't really want one standing out from the other jars. However, any solid gray (shades are off a bit from one person to another and that is okay because it is well disbursed throughout the quilt). I would love to see you join the swap!

Since there is only a couple of us in the swap would it be okay to send more than one jar? Like as long as they are different patterns (p.s. sorry for all the questions)

@KRPW1181 Ask as many questions as you need too! Yes, you may send multiple jars - however, it isn't required.
