Description:

A Victorian Art/Letter Swap in groups of 3 rounds

This is the last round of this swap. It is now 1886. Our characters have been leading interesting lives in their far-flung corners of the world with secrets, romances and the social whirl. We should be winding up their current adventures. The world in which they live is changing and they are, in their discreet ways, shaping that change for the betterment of society in general and women in particular. The Parlour Empire remains a Society known only to few and is selective of its members. Will Constance, Emilie and Flora-Rose choose to undergo further missions in order to advance within the Society's ranks? Will they remain useful, but junior, members? Will they decide to return to the Victorian Age that we know and where 'talent' does not exist?

The year is 1885. You are a former student of Appleyard's Academy for Talented Young Ladies. The school, run by Lady Frances Fullerton-Smythe, caters to young women of unusual talents, not just wealth and breeding. Subjects included those considered necessary for women who would be moving among the elite of society; Etiquette, Dance, Household Management, Fashion for all occasions (taught by a Parisienne couturier). Also included in the curriculum; Fencing with parasol and sword stick, Pistol Concealment for Easy Deployment, Coded Communication at the Tea Table, Bookbinding, Control of your steed (Equine and Mechanical), Chemistry in the Kitchen or Laboratory. Most graduates of the School will join the ranks of The Ladies of the Parlour Empire ( a Secret Society).

Your task is to create a character to fit within this milleu. Each Round you will create a double spread (paint, draw, collage, mixed media) together with an accompanying letter to another former student, in an appropriate style.

(Remember to keep a copy of your letters/notes so you remember who your character is and what they said last time so you don't get your story confused. It is also a good idea to create a file, for your own reference, of pics of your major characters and notes about them.)

I haven't been checking in on Swapbot very often but I saw that a swapping friend had joined this swap and it looks awesome. Please let me know if you host any new swap.
