Description:

I love watching card kit unboxing videos on YouTube, but I'm not the type of person that would actually subscribe to one, haha.

For this swap, you're going to create a themed card kit for your partner. It's sender's choice for the theme, but your kit should include the following:

  • 3-4 pieces of patterned paper (can be any weight, including card stock)
  • 2-3 pieces of solid colored card stock
  • 5-7 pieces of ephemera/diecuts/stamped images ("focal points")
  • 7-10 embellishments (sequins, rhinestones, ribbons, buttons, etc)
  • One piece of "inspiration"

** The minimum size of the papers is 4.25x5.5 inches.**

The "inspiration" you send can be whatever inspired you to set the theme. For example, I'm looking at a really pretty postcard and the kit I may create would play off the colors and theme of the postcard. Or while looking through my rubber stamps, I found a set that inspired the theme. The inspiration can be part of the swap, like a piece of paper or stamped image, OR it can be something outside the kit, like a postcard, but it must be sent with the kit.

On your note with the swap name and your username, include what the theme is and what the inspiration piece is. Ex: Card Kit, caf1988, Theme=mushrooms, inspiration=mushroom stamp set.

Please note: this is supposed to be a cheap swap to send. You are encouraged to send stamped images rather than the actual stamp set! Not that you have to go the stamp route; diecuts, ephemera, etc are all acceptable focal points.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns leave a comment or send me a PM.

US Only this time. Feel free to create an international version and/or host a version in your group.

4.98 minimum rating. Minimum of 15 rated type 2&3 swaps. No 1s owed to active swappers, No history of late sending, No drama. I will angel, etc, etc, etc.

This sounds fun! I assume we send a blank card base and envelope too?

@prettyalice Haha. I actually had a whole paragraph on this that I ended up deleting as being needlessly complicated.

The short answer is that sending a blank card base and envelope is optional because sometimes they can be half of the weight of the swap ("I like thick card bases and I cannot lie" or however the song goes, lol) and I wanted the focus here to be on the goodies without spending too much to ship.

The longer answer is that if you choose to send a card base and envelope, suddenly everything had better be proportional. So, no sending a 5x7 card base and envelope with 4.25x5.5 papers. The paper needs to be at least as big as the base.

So, if your kit feels incomplete without a card base and envelope, feel free to send them. If you feel that including them is unnecessary, more power to y'all folks as well 😁.
