Description:

I've really gotten into making stitch markers and decided to host a swap for them!

This swap will be for 8 Simple handmade stitch markers. These can be either for Knitting or for Crochet but you must look at your partners profile first to see which they would prefer! If there is no preference you can do 4 of each for Knitting and 4 for Crochet to mix it up a bit. Also, look at your partners profile to see what colors they like. Its always nice to receive something in your favorite color!

These must be handmade and not store bought. Where's the fun in that? These can be made using ANY type of beads. Thats why this is called SIMPLE stitch markers. If you really want to, you can fancy them up a bit using glass beads or other types of beads. Please only send new items. Even though this is called "simple" you should still send something that is nice and something that you wouldn't mind receiving yourself.

These should be valued at no more than $5 dollars if you were to sell these BEFORE shipping.

If you have never made stitch markers you can do a google search and find tutorials on how to make them.

Now for the 'Red Tape' stuff:

  1. This is an international swap.

  2. Newbies are welcome but you MUST email me
first before signing up and you MUST have a completed profile! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!
    Everyone started out new once.

  3. ANYONE with a rating BELOW 4.5 WILL BE BANNED!

  4. IF YOU INTEND TO FLAKE ON THIS ASSIGNMENT, SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND DO NOT EVEN BOTHER SIGNING UP!!!

Also, any "flaker warnings" would be appreciated from any swap-bot veterans to help me keep out all the non-senders. Sense I'm still new, I'm not aware of all the flakers out there and I want to try and make sure EVERYONE gets a package.

If we do get any 'No Sends' volunteer 'Angels' to send out packages to those that got flaked would be very much appreciated.

I'm relatively new at swap-bot myself and if I've left out anything that you think I need to put on here to help make it clearer, suggestions are welcome!

Hope this turns out to be a good swap. I'm kinda nervous!

Cheers!

i only knit so that leaves me with stitch markers for knitting. Any color is fine although reds are my favorite color.

crochetferretlvr 03/31/2007 #

I'm a Crocheter, but I'm learning to Knit so either is just fine or a combo of the two would be good as well. Any colors are welcome!!!

Is there a difference between stitch markers for knitting and crochet? Does anyone know where I can get hold of the rings?

crochetferretlvr 04/ 2/2007 #

Cloverst...I found the rings to make the knitting stitch markers at wal-mart. Their called the 'toggle clasps'.

I use regular 'ear wires' to make my stitch markers for crochet.

I only knit as well so solid toggles are good for me.

For crocheting you can use the lobster claw clasp in lieu of the toggle.

I don't mind either style and I'd love to recieve my partner's choice in colour and style. Surprise me.

carmelnap 04/ 8/2007 #

I don't mind being surprised! Knitting or crochet.

user2784 04/11/2007 #

I'm not picky. Either or will do. I adore green so even if there's a little hint of it somewhere then I'm a happy camper.

user4688 04/11/2007 #

I knit a lot and I'm just starting crochet so either one will be fine.

See the earring at this site? http://jewelrymaking.about.com/library/weekly/aa012401.htm I have made "convertible" stitch markers from this type of earring. Because it closes completely, it is great for knitting. And because it can open, it is also great for crocheting. Love this type of earring for making stitch markers!

user4719 04/18/2007 #

Hi all! I knit so I would love to have markers for knitting. My favorite color is green, but anything would work. Thanks!

user4688 04/19/2007 #

TriviumLady,

Your package is on his way to you. It's coming from Canada so sometimes could take longer to get to you.

Hope that you will love them. Gina

Harlem Purls,

I put your stitch markers in the mail to you this morning. I am so excited for you to receive them, I can hardly wait! Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them for you.

Sara, your stitch markers are on the way! Hope you like them.

user2784 04/23/2007 #

Laurel,

All I can say is OMG. When I opened up the package my mouth fell to the floor. Just exquisite. I cannot express my thanks enough. The little post it notes were a nice touch also. I plan on singing your praises along with some pics on my blog by the end of the week. Now I have to re-evaluate my package and try to pay it forward.

DaCraftyLady 04/25/2007 #

Cecila I forgot to post sorry... but your stitch markers are on their way...

Gina,

My stitch markers came in the mail yesterday. They are fabulous! I didn't have the guts to do an unmatched set, but you have encouraged me to consider it, because these came out beautifully! I'll be putting pix of these on my Flickr site. Thanks so so much.
